The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

The bit when Clint was dragged across the desert behind the horse disturbed the shit out of me

For decades I never knew why it affected me so deeply, but now I know it's because it was revealing the suffering of the human condition, which my subconscious mind recognised even at an early age.

What was the movie where he was supposedly the devil and painted the town red? that kinda scared me, I remember a little midget fella and a guy getting whipped

When I was just a kid, X-Files were on.
There was this scene with kinda like a stalagmite sort of thing coming out of a guy's throat.

I felt so sick that my parents called the doctor.

Was that a midget from other movies too? I don't remember the scene with the thing coming out of the guy throat but I do remember a guy from x files that used to slide through pipes and eat peoples livers.

Re: What scared you on TV as a child?
i'm looking it up now and these are the 2 movies. i always remembered them as night of the living dead #2 and #3 not sure why.

but it was:
- Night of the Living Dead (1990)

and i can't find the 2nd movie.

it was like a rented cabin and they would turn on this music box and all the dead/undead would come attack them. can't remember the name now.

oh yea. It was "Return of the Living Dead Part 2" and the 1990 version was considered part 3. ahhh yes. those old shady memories are coming back lol.

the other movie, the one where they turned the music box on was inside my fern gully movie case and i didn't realize it until i popped it into the VCR and intrigue and horror swept over me so i kept watching lol.

I never got into Hellraiser, I only watched it when I was older so that must be why it doesn't scare me much, not sure why I never saw it earlier, the video-man probably didn't have it in his van. I've seen every other 80s horror when I was young.

It was Freddy Krueger when I was 7/8, Lol...

I remember my babysitter watching one of his movies, but from the top of our stairs, when I should have been in bed, I watched it as well...

I was terrified to sleep after that... flicked the lamp on in my room and was up half of the night trying not to think about it...

Re: What scared you on TV as a child?
nah it wasn't that either. it was rich old snobs in a 70s style room wearing 70s style clothing that would turn on a music box the old fancy 1930's versions with the big tuba horn at the end and these sorts of spirits or something would appear to attack them.

Freddy Part 2 was the the first video I ever watched on our new video player. I loved it. It was a warm summers day, a lot of kids were out playing soccer but I closed all the curtains I was so excited to see a video. Its still my favourite Freddy movie.
When Freddy appears at the swimming pool and kills the fat guy its embedded in my memory

Never let my children watch it, and still find it to be very creepy and dark.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."
Marcus Tullius Cicero
