Your dentist will ask you if you are experiencing domestic abuse but you tell him how happy you are in finding creative methods of sobriety. Mr. Assassin also rewards you for being sober by cleaning your dishes, some light cooking, laundry, and vacuuming. Should he vacuum behind your drapes and find your secret stash of Bushmills well he beats you with the vacuum, then the toilet seat, then the spatula, and finally shoves you face first into the washing machine during spin cycle. That'll be $12000. Ask the low lifes about him under the bridge. Don't stare at his eye patch. |

(by limiting the DOSE) (limit myself to 3 drinks or shots, and usually it is only 1 drink or shot (in a day) if I'm not socializing) But you have to have some discipline to do this of course. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. It's time to WIN. |

Otherwise there is very little chance the pet owner will be able to improve their circumstances sufficiently to recover the pet. What I am trying to say to OP is, ask for help from a licensed professional to help you through this, sign in to a treatment program, etc. don’t do it alone. |

It’s fuckin my life up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80094047 Ease off the alcohol slowly. Instead of your usual amount each day, cut it back by half beer for a few days. After three days cut back by a whole beer and so on. You do not want to quit cold turkey. You can develop DT's which can be dangerous. DT's include rapid onset of confusion, shaking, irregular heart rate and shivering. Find supportive friends or family. Do not hang around your usual people that do like to drink. Call a friend and find someone who can remind you of your goal. Pray over your addiction. Also, do not keep alcohol around once you are able to cut back completely. Lastly, find a good habit to pick up such as walking or running. It is one day at a time. God bless you! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72315190 United States 03/07/2021 10:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For me to stop my procrastination, the most important thing was to identify the real trigger that made me make bad choices. I imagined how doing something I enjoy made me feel, (Trigger / Dopamine), and down the procrastination road I went. I had to de-program my mind to "enjoy" the satisfation of getting things done, more than the pleasurable activities. That was key. Good luck OP, I think the same principal applies. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 53314064 Canada 03/07/2021 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For me it was AA as well ... embracing the other members as my new peer group outside meetings. Living life instead of chasing the next drink, when I was done / accepted the truth the poison was rotting my mind, body and soul. ... Went for 3 or 4 years and have found what I needed to remain away from alcohol within my family unit since. Whatever you run with know you have support here ... this board killed a lot of my time struggling to stay sober ... the education / content gained through the search feature kept my mind on other things. I am in a long term relationship, have 3 kids, 4th on way ... am a home owner ... own my car ... CC debt under 5k (now) ... this was not the way things were nor were heading ... was living in parents basement in early 20s as a high school drop out as a simple snap shot ... started drinking heavy at 13 ... escalated into other stuff by 15 ... in drug rehab at 16 in the early 90s which didnt take lol ... If you put the energy out you will get objectives in the end. It can be worth it. (I am the psychological and emotional support for my young wife battling cancer ... the liablity I WOULD have been instead of asset can not be understated ... quite shocking what the world actually will throw at you when you can stand a chance at handling it) |

Extreme results take extreme measures: change your friends change where you go what you do. It’s worth it. Don’t waste any more time being a drunk. User ID: 78659823 United States 03/07/2021 11:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't have any advice. I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed drinking and I guess I drank so much that my body can't take any more alcohol. Ever. If I have just a half teaspoon, my eyes/sinuses hurt really bad. So I can't enjoy the whiskey, rum, gin, martinis or anything else with alcohol ever again. I wish you good luck OP. |
