Most Americans in their heart of hearts love their own self image first and foremost. Idolaters and hypocrites. The country, it's institutions, it's people are sick and lost, far far away from the founding principles.

"culture" has two main meanings, in anthropological/social studies sense it means how people live, their values, customs, family and gender roles, religion etc ... or the other meaning, arts, literature, entertainment etc ..


in the first sense there are probably more cultures in America than anywhere else under the sun, more ethnicities, more communities, heck even more genders anywhere else. In America you can live you life as a transgender lesbian dog if you so wish etc

There is something wrong with them.

America has a huge transient population, particularly in the bigger cities like new York. This means many people are constantly moving around and new people are coming and going. They don't live near each for a long time, they don't share experiences over years and generations. So the culture remains at a very superficial level. For a culture to really develop people have to stay in the same place for a very long time and go through hardships together. Either out of desire or necessity. But in America, because transportation is so easy and the country is so vast and beautiful, there is not much incentive to stay in one location.

Where did you get that idea from? It's completely false. It's a LIE that is being told for political reasons. Americans CAN relocate and have been doing it since the Mayflower. The urge to move is a part of how Asians thousands of years ago and Europeans hundreds of years ago came to be here, and not there.

There is a transient population of fruit pickers in California. Cities have the Universities, the Symphony Orchestras, the Theatre, the Salsa bands, The Polka Bands, the Science Museums, the many Neighborhood Festivals (we have the Honk Festival of armature marching bands (for the non guitar players) in Somerville MA)

People are more likely to move from the sterile suburbs than the cities. People change jobs in the 'berbs and that's where American trash culture (which the world wants after 10 years) lives.

Many cities are wooded, colorful, supportive of neighbors and often 3 generations are living in one block. When developers come in and mow down blocks for the new commercial arts center (Lincoln Ctr. or Boston's East End) the population has to move, but mostly they prefer to stay put. Unless it's a hell hole of filth and brick and there are those. Some of the smaller Atlantic cities south of NYC are hellholes.
