Research magnesium for constipation as there are many forms of magnesium. Some are more for heart health, some more for bowel movement. I take before bed and the first warm drink in the morning and i'm scooting... It's really helped me.

Also look into raising your feet up when you go, we aren't designed to sit, we were made to squat. Sitting and straining is not good for your ass, prolapsed anus and hemorrhoids...

Also if you're bound up and need relief research warm water and salt. I believe it's a couple tablespoons of salt in a quart of hot water. I did it once years ago and yeah it works and fast too, total cleanout. Check the salt amount before you try, not sure exact amount. It's for if you really are bound up... a Taco Bell run to the border movement.

Regular strength caffeine pill every morning (100 mg). Works great and it's fast (within 15 minutes). Doesn't make me nauseous the way caffeine drinks do.

You may try eating laxative fruits like pear, apricot, watermelon. They regulate your bowel movements. Also walnuts does a great job as laxative. Just don't forget to drink plenty of water after eating them.

In addition to that, stay away from the fruits like banana, quince and peach. They are highly constipating. Also, you may try limiting your sugar intake; since it worsens your constipation.

Most importantly, stay away from refined foods and sodas. Fast food, cola and potato chips are highly detrimental for your intestinal health.

If you are in need of a quick solution, take a constipation medicine. And get a probiotic with it; as it provides the necessary bacterias that the medicine neutralizes.
