Why should it? Whether someone wants to wear a mask of any kind or not in any public space should be their personal right. This type of measure could open the door to vast facial recognition surveillance

You are absolutely naive when it comes to Islam. There is no "political" Islam. There is only the brutal face of Islam, which our ancestors gave twice their lives for, for keeping Islam out of Europe.
They come to Europe under the disguise of personal choice or freedom and stay quiet and wait maybe another two more generations, until they have outbred the native populations.
And then you, your wives and daughters will have to learn the hard way that personal choice does not exist in Islam, when Islam will have you and people like you under the bloody boot of Islam.
