SOOOOO

My daughter got a call from someone wanting to buy my house. she's not even listed on the property. there is no way they could have gotten her number.

They said my house is absentee homeownership. AND the only way they would construe that information is from the US Census.

Holy Shit, if China has the US Census information we are fucked.

Re: Just got a call from someone asking to buy my house
So I just got a call where the guy was asking if I'd be open to selling my house. Guy said he was from a "real estate investment group".

Pretty odd if you ask me. I told him I'd sell for $1,000,000.00. The weird part was he didn't flinch he just wanted to confirm the address. I wouldn't confirm my address so he said thanks and hung up.

I googled the number and a bunch of Chinese writing showed up.

What's really going on?

The problem with that thinking is that if hyperinflation hits, being able to keep a home will become much more difficult. How is everyone with overvalued homes going to be able to afford everything else on top of a mortgage if everything triples?

That's why I didn't fill ours out. Several 'reminder' letters and even some woman coming to the door to make sure we filled out the census. After seeing all of the political B.S. taking place over the past decade, I have zero interest in providing anyone with any additional information about me or any of my family members who may or may not be residing in my home. It's dreadful what information anyone can access now, and if someone wants that kind of information, they can easily get it now regardless of any census report. That said, we've been looking to purchase a new home and have seen multiple listings disappear overnight in the Wisconsin and Minnesota markets. Farm land being bought out at a frightening pace as well. We are basically seeing our local farms disappearing at an alarming rate, which I foresee will soon eliminate our local food supply of fresh meats and produce.

I've gotten calls and letters in the mail wanting to buy my house and land. They offer 1/5 of what I could get for it at a local real estate agent.
It's usually just a scam to con old people who don't know the current value of land.
Not selling. Right now the most important thing one could have is farmland.

It's happening in Canada too, in boring parts of Canada where nobody has been attracted to before. In New Brunswick we have a shortage of doctors because doctors don't want to come to New Brunswick to live, it's too boring for them, but suddenly houses are being bought up and apartment buildings too. A lot of people are saying they have to move because someone bought their building and told all of the tenants they have to move out for renovations to take place. We DO have a lot of farmland here so maybe they are buying that too.

It's very creepy and I hope it's not China.

Re: Just got a call from someone asking to buy my house
Real estate is one of the few mechanisms available for Chinese and dirty money to enter the US.

Every bank and institution is required to have KYC processes. If the money smells even remotely dirty, the customer cannot open an account. Banks are super serious about these regulations.

However, real estate is exempt. Make a shell company, capitalize it with the dirty money, then go buy US real estate. No KYC required, especially if you pay in cash.

Hold the property for a few years then sell it when you need to get clean US money. Piece of cake. Even if you take a loss when you sell it, the haircut is still much smaller than any other form of money laundering. And it's all legal.

When this happened in London, there were whole apartment buildings that were empty. Buyers snapped up everything, but it didn't even bother to rent the apartments.

They buy these properties in real estate holding companies and never sell them.

I've been trying to get ahold of one that owns a lot I've wanted for years, they never respond.

Market is on fire and they still won't sell it.
Few will listen,
Of the few who listen, fewer still will understand,
Understanding does not mean believe,
Of the handful who believe, most may not know what to do,
Those who even know, how many will actually do ?
And the rare ones who have done it.......
Need not listen to you anymore.

There are major investment groups buying up property (and driving up housing costs). Some may be Chinese but most are American. They buy up whole neighborhoods, do cosmetic improvements and then rent the properties at jacked up prices. This is really terrible for our country and communities. It's pricing people out of the towns they grew up in.
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

American Real Estate IS currency.

Put two mortgages in your pocket and fly to any country.

Now try the same thing with cash.

Here's the kicker.

You don't have to actually CARRY the mortgages.

You can team up with others and form a company.

Re: Just got a call from someone asking to buy my house
I suppose I could add this, as I didn't mention it my previous post... Last summer, when we had the major flooding in parts of Kansas, there were reports of "investors" contacting farmers who had lost their herds and land to the floods, offering large sums to buy them out. I don't have the links at the moment, but you can look this up. These reports of large land purchases indicated that the entities buying these farmers out were those connected to Chinese corps. The same has been happening to nursing homes in my area. These companies are buying out nursing homes, oddly enough. They come in, remove all management and staff, and then reopen under new ownership with stricter adherence to all of the Covid testing, resident isolation, and policies of no family visitation. This has been going on since at least last year, when my previous job was working in a memory care facility taken over in this same manner. They were bought out by a foreign investment group....in lock-step with the CDC..you can guess which foreign country these hedge fund members belong to. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I could possibly claim that the U.S. and its occupants are being sold to another country, but who really wants to admit this without being called a racist, a bigot, a white supremacist, or whatever floats the boat of those either too blind to see or those in seats of political authority who have sold their states and country out for their own personal financial gains?

Re: Just got a call from someone asking to buy my house
There's quite a few houses for sale by me but they get multiple offers, like 5-10, within hours of being listed and are being bought sight unseen its crazy. Im trying to buy right now and its incredibly frustrating.
