The Airforce Cyber Command employs an army of trolls to keep discussions "on message" as they refer to it. It's entirely feasible that there are a host of other agencies engaged in the same sort of activity.
That doesn't even take into account the numerous "grassroots" political action groups that have been caught doing the same thing repeatedly.
Twitter is a cesspool chock full of that.

I saw a formation of them through a cloud break after a storm in Hawaii. Two dozen orbital craft in a chaotic group suddenly snapped into a perfect arrow shape in a perfectly spaced grid formation. The formation continued at orbital speed and trajectory for a few seconds, then burst back into chaotic formation before disappearing behind cloud cover again. I would guess it was us testing the drive systems, but WTF knows. I am a pilot and engineer and never seen ANYTHING remotely like that.
