If you have time, I know you're busy. My father passed last year and I was with him until the end. I miss him terribly. He was my best friend. Today is my first birthday without him on this planet. His name is George and he was 92 and had come from California to live below me and my son in my apartment complex for the last six years. I'm grateful for that time. He was very independent and then, suddenly, he just went downhill, stopped eating and he always loved his food. Caught us both by surprise and it was very sad. Six weeks and he was gone. I'm thinking he had pancreatic cancer but we didn't know it because there had been issues. I know he didn't want to die. We had so many things in common, our love of animals and especially dogs, our love of the desert, same sense of humor. I feel like I'm having trouble getting over it. Anyway, I hope he's alright and I just don't know what's in store now for me and my adult son, who has disabilities. We're doing good...it's just that I miss my dad and sometimes, I feel as if I've lost my purpose.
