Growing up, I'd always had a fascination w/ Petra and have often wondered if I was a Nabataen in another lifetime. Very hard to research way back then before computers and the innerwebz.

And I always thought (w/out reading anything out there published at the time) that the pyramids everywhere were more than just tombs for VIPS, their valued stuff and slaves to be buried.

Came across someone's hypothesis of how many of these ancient structures were built strategically for time/space concepts to be saved for posterity but also as "counter weights acting as a ship's ballast" for when our 3rd rock from the Sun has some kind of major disruption of our normal solar dance.

Very intriguing stuff.
