We've been sending troops to Africa for many years. I was a volunteer for the USO who fed them, hugged them goodbye, and watched them board their planes, flying out of the USA. It was no secret. To think that no one out there knows where we send our troops is ludicrous.

If 600 are going, do you really think their immediate families and other relatives don't know where they're going and when? Take 6 friends and relatives of 600...that's 3,600 right there.

Just think of the type of people/criminals we have in government/congress and elsewhere. Do you really think they keep "secrets?" Besides, there are spies in our government and military. I knew that back in the 70's when my husband was an officer in the US Army and we were stationed in Germany. We were warned about it all the time.

I was USMC, we did things different. A blip we are leaving in the media if anything. we are on naval vessels and are never allowed to say where we are going until we are there if we are hitting even friendly ports. If going out to do training or actual combat missions, comms blackout. Emails are scanned for key words before it even leaves the ship or local network ashore before it even leaves the site to the NOC.
