Doom break, You like guitars?
I'm an avid guitar player, some 30 years playing, Rock and roll of course. My first guitar was a Japanese Del Ray. Forget the brand. But many years later I still look at cool guitars. Always wanted a Carvin, 1/16th of an inch action with no buzzing frets, was their ad. And they lived up to it.
My favorite of theirs was the DC-150 double cutaway. M22 humbuckers, and neck through the guitar precision. Jumbo wide frets, for smooth action play.

But this one. If you love guitars, check this shit out. Beyond bizarre. You no longer have the move the string sideways, you can just apply more pressure LOL.

I believe in science NOT religion. Giving me bad karma for that, is anti-religious (you're passing judgement) I am just a man. Of no significance. Who found religion to be full of lies, and wrong doing, conflicted teachings

Saw that one before, lol I could never play that, already I don't like jumbo frets (hence why I never buy ESP or LTD guitars anymore they only use XJ), I'm used to medium jumbos so I go a bit sharp, so without a fingerboard underneath it would be crazy

Interesting idea especially if you like scalloped fingerboards, but hell I would never be able to play that

Yeah, that is off the wall for sure. Kind of sitar concept, with less strings of course. Prefer the fretless wonder size frets myself. Imagine the "purists" talking about the tone of the necks wood! Ha!

My friend Albert was head tech at Carvin for many years until they closed in San Diego. I went to NAMM with a Carvin badge for years.

I'll share one moment he really loved. These are Jason's. Number 1 and Number 1.1

He had both at his house for a bit.

I was at a pawn shop while haggling over the price of an amp in 1997 - 1998?
They wouldn't give on the amps price, so I grabbed some no-name Japanese guitar and said 'throw this in for free and its a deal' - they said ok

The amp is long gone, but I've still got that Takamine GX200 electric guitar.cool2

Well, Granny just took up the electric bass. Yes, I did.

I bought a gently used 1989 Hohner JJ Professional Bass. Right now I'm teaching myself via YouTube and downloading tabs online.

I haven't purchased an amp yet, but I did buy a Vox headphone amp so not to disturb my better half too much.

Music is great therapy.

Thanks OP!

This book is awesome.

The Birth of Loud: Leo Fender, Les Paul, and the Guitar-Pioneering Rivalry That Shaped Rock 'n' Roll
Ian Port
“A hot-rod joy ride through mid-20th-century American history” (The New York Times Book Review), this one-of-a-kind narrative masterfully recreates the rivalry between the two men who innovated the electric guitar’s amplified sound—Leo Fender and Les Paul—and their intense competition to convince rock stars like the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton to play the instruments they built.

I bought a beautiful Carvin five string bass when I returned from the desert in 2005. Man, was that thing awesome. It played like butter. Ebony fingerboard, neck through body, string through body, a highly figured quilted maple top with an electric blue finish. When I took a road trip to the left coast to visit family some asshole stole the Carvin, my amp and even my damn house plants! lol I miss that bass.

I like guitars, but I’m more of an acoustic guitar guy.

One thing I sometimes think about is how much longer will the guitar be a popular instrument? We tend to think it will last forever, but music changes. The mandolin, fiddle and dulcimer were common instruments not that long ago.

I've got two Vox headphone amps the regular one and a metal one. I also got a 5w tube amp. LTD Eclipse 400 with Black Winter pickups...bought all this a year ago when the lockdowns started then immediately got called back to work....probably played it about 5 hours total.

Garrison is my favorite. Gibson quality, lower price tag, no longer made, so collectible. Cutaway 6-string and thinner concert version. Want 12-string one of these days.
