Quoting: Larphillips So far, I have: Coffee Toothpaste Toilet paper (I’d assume paper towels will ride with this) What else for our day-to-day? They said all of this last year and it was lies. You all just keep believing each new reason there "is a shortage". Last year started out with shipping and production delays bc China had covid. Then the us got it and our lockdown caused shortages. This year they started blaming the ice in ky, tx, ok. Now the shipping containers and that boat stuck in the suez canal. Its all bs to cause you to react and over hoard, causing more shortage. |

I’ve been trading commodities for a while now, and I have not seen inflation like this in a long time. Prices have doubled in the last 6 months or so and don’t appear to be slowing. Back in the 80s and 90s they closed all the Steel mills on Ohio River and sent those jobs to Mexico, Japan, China, Russia. Nobody in America cared it was all 'just business'. 'Reality of the times'. My parents lost their jobs. "Old America of days past" Many chickens coming home to roost at the same time these days. Quoting: Old Custer Destroyed steel in OH, WVA, and PA. I agree with you, no one seemed to care, everyone clamored about how clean Pittsburgh became. Well, enjoy the clean skyline via a webcam because that steel you hated that made your car is now gone so you won't be taking a trip anywhere. All so predictable, I often wonder why God hasn't smited us, I think he realizes that letting us live in the mess we created is a better punishment. We lost the next war before it will even be fought. That was our one weakness. We were for sale, 'make an offer'. We're going to get a very hard lesson on why relying on others for exports is not always a good idea. It takes decades to get an industrial base and the Chinese only have to say "we're putting a trade embargo on the United States" That day will come. and sooner than you think. Mark my words. None of these shortages is because of covid or people buying more. Somebody is using these resources for something secretive. My guess is China is secretly arming themselves. First, unrelated to this post, it did occur to me I wonder if this ship was grounded on purpose, to use this as an excuse for supply shortages, though it seems a bit lame, as it will be cleared then what will the excue be, and it doesnt excuse the China-LA route. What you said about the war, this I what I have wondered. Everyone says US wants to go to war with China, but how can they? Everything you use is made in China, so how can there be a war? Back when countries where more nationalized and have many localized industrial resources I can imagine a world war, but I cant see how it can be done now in a world that is highly globalized. My feeling on the shortages is the same, related to something secretive. What puzzles me about them however is the pattern is wrong. If there are shortages, it first shows up in third-world countries like South Africa, which don't have the clout or buying power of the developed countries like USA. But this time, there are no major shortages (that I know of anyways or have seen myself) or anything. This makes me think its more the US gov that is siphoning off all the resources. My gut feeling is, given I feel covid is related a forthcoming massive geo-physical event, the USA and their allies are using these resources to urgently finish off underground shelter projects, ditto the massive stimulus spending, only a fraction goes to public, the rest for all intents and purposes is untraceable and vanishes, it out in the open spending now to finish preparing. Ditto the food, its not all being shipping to China etc and fed to the poor and impoverished, its all going to provision these shelters that are likely distributed all over the world. But your idea of China building an army to mess the whole place up is perhaps the more rational and likely one in what is for the most part a very boring and bland run-of-the-mill universe. |

You're dead on the money about it being china but it's far from being done in secret... So why would our leadership be willing to accept and allow this rapid buildup while at the same point directing western media not to cover it and spin the supply issues as mysterious and or economic "perfect storms"? There's a right answer to that question and it should make you angry. roguetechie |
