I worked at a FOX affiliate in the states 15 years ago and learned how the news works.

The stories come in from the pipe connected to satan's asshole, then go to the producer who has to run 1,2, & 3. Can chose between 4,5, & 6. Pipes them to the writers who package what you see on TV by gathering any footage presented and writing what will fill the allotted time.

Satan craps the national news turds across to all the stations. That's how it works.

Then the stations give you local news.

The same basic structure works for newspapers and websites.

What you have here is artificial intelligence writing stories based on statistics provided by local officials. Expect to see significantly more "stories" of the same general format and contents. They are simply taking numbers from a spreadsheet and generating "stories" for distribution on the web. Easy to explain.
