Regarding Carson, CA...
Had a mag 4.3 quake Sept. 21st. This rotten egg smell began shortly after. They claim the smell is from vegetation in the channel releasing Hydrogen sulfide. Quakes and volcanoes release this gas too. If it were really from rotting vegetation in the channel due to "drought", then it works ld always smell there...

Perception is reality, is an old saying. As I said, I started this thread when a volcano going off was news that was in March. Now it has become common place. Now there are 30+ live volcanoes these days.

Prep tips:

My apartment is freezing. It's not freezing outside, but it is COLD inside. They haven't turned the heat on yet, so I can't take the chill off in the morning. I am running my food dehydrator in the bedroom at night per your suggestion (currently drying basil), and it really helped last night. I still need to order a 12v blanket in case of a power outage.

Get your vehicles serviced asap. I got my Jeep's annual service done in September, and the autoport on base didn't have air filters (for the AC). I ordered some from AutoZone, and they arrived today. I saw a YouTube video this morning that ALL filters (oil, air, fuel, etc.) will soon be in short supply due to supply chain and manufacturing disruptions. Trucks, cars, lawn mowers, generators. Get yours now.

Also, get your Thanksgiving food now if that is important to you or your family. Traditions are important! (No French's fried onions at the commissary today, but we will make do if necessary.)
