When I was 5 y.o., "Sesame Street" premiered. For about 2 yrs. they had a repeating segment of a baker with fresh pies who would fall down the stairs (teaching how to count #'s). For young children, this was absolutely the funniest thing ever invented in the world.

They DISCONTINUED the usage of the baker who falls down the stairs, perhaps due to parental complaints or something? An early lesson in political correctness we had to endure (even though they were an effective teaching tool).

Comedian Chevy Chase adopted that same pratfall a whole 8 yrs. later for the openings of 'SNL,' to great success during his single year of the premiere of the show.

If you skip to 1:26 in this video, it is the orig. Sesame Street falling baker (with 9 pies here) falling down the stairs. (not that it's funny now or anything, just a memory for those who remember it)
