Russian aircraft on their way to Dutch airspace stopped. Not happened in more than 4 years. It starts again.

Strange that they can fly as far into Europe. Above our islands. Really bizarre.

Yes you are correct. But not the last years. In the past they did also an lot. It is not far from my place only 80 km. And in 10 minutes i'm with my car in Germany. It is to close.

The RAF has scrambled typhoon jets after reports of Russian aircraft over the North Sea.

The Ministry of Defence said a Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) from RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland, is airborne.

Mil Radar's Twitter page said a Russian aircraft was seen over the North Sea before being quickly "shadowed by RAF QRA Typhoons".

It said: "Russian aircraft now over the North Sea heading south shadowed by RAF QRA Typhoons with RAF Voyager support.

Interesting, I'm glad you got a break from it. It IS too close. Soesterberg should've never been closed, but "they" didn't ask me. It never made sense to me.

They cut everything down. It is also not far from our Leeuwarden air base. they were only about 60 km away. There are also often American f15 fighter jets
Yes Soesterberg is more in the middle Netherlands leeuwarden in the North. Pff i hope we go out the EU and do like UK.

We were there from '88-'93. I hope you do too. We loved the Netherlands. My youngest was born there and doesn't remember anything. He's heard all about it his whole life and wants to visit so much. I tease him and say he'll have to take me with him!

I live in the north / east of the Netherlands. Yes is a very nice place in the Netherlands. Yes, that's a nice reminder, you should. But it has changed a lot, the Netherlands. 80's was a very beautiful time.
