It stops some of the lazy ones. But i still hold the belief without ACs.. GLP is more at risk. Whatever fabricated ill-intent anyone wants to blame from this site.. can now "clearly" be blamed on all of us as a members only site.

GLP is an easier "slow-day in the news" target now.

It now looks like a proper website instead of things along the likes of 4chan=aka the cespool of the internet.

Some people need an Ignore List in order to make themselves safe. I know when YIM was still up and running I had over three hundred people on my Ignore List. About half were bots and trolls before Internet trolls were a thing. The other were once decent to former online best friends who betrayed me in one way or more ways.

Well I have always enjoyed your posts so maybe I was abit harsh but I really don't care for OPs opinion to silence so many people because...maybe I should read the entire thread then?

I just know for myself on YIM I did lose at least five good friends due to those fricken bots. Somehow all five of those friends of mine had unwittingly spoke to those bots enough that their YIM accounts were brute force attack hacked. Yahoo!'s Help Desk offered no real help at any given time. Only one of my then online friends managed to remember my screen name because of just how specific it was at the time.

She had only recovered about a dozen of her friends at the time. She too had well over a hundred friends which was incredibly soul crushing to her to lose pretty much everyone she ever really cared about on her YIM account. Heck, I even lost my original Yahoo account through one of my User Created Chat Rooms one day. That was incredibly soul crushing. Well, for rather specific reasons. Oh well. I guess Yahoo had one heck alot of backdoors and/or security holes in their software that they did not want anyone to know of nor about.

I miss the good ol' days of Yahoo! Instant Messenger, AIM, MSN Messenger. I tried ICQ Messenger, but due to an incredibly bizarre string of incidents on my first day with that IM program I uninstalled it and never looked back.

define "abusive"... and consider what the mental health may be of much of those that marked those posts as such - including leftards ACs.

For instance if I had commented crop circles are BS in some thread about them and you saw that, wonder if you'd mark it as "abusive".

In another example, most of bad karma I've gotten in past 2 weeks were praising in others' threads about AC ban. Many ACs ended up registering because of the ban and started to report "abusive" whoever posted praising the ban.

I've joined GLP on Sep 2015, almost daily reader and almost weekly commenter, and have mere 16 karma points so far. This means something huh? karma still positive after 6 years in a row. Where there are 'so much' "abusive" posts in this picture?

My current score is Total: 57 thumbs up (37 User Votes + 12 Threads Pinned + 8 Thread Reports) and 41 thumds down so, not that bad, I guess is average to registered active users.

well, same may apply about you. Your "how many oddities can one find in an onion" BS thread. However you have OPed some other threads a little interesting in subject/theme and that's why I have't added you so far to my ignore list. So far.

although I also "don't care" for your opinion, I wanna just reinfoce the point of this thread of mine: the 1st/2nd pages becoming less clumsy with junk text, faster and more chance to find/focus on new stuff and stuff from frequent posters that bring matters aligned with GLP's goal, not attention whores. About "silence" "so many" people, besides being a right the site grants, the people I've added is who I see their "threads" being BS. And there's MUCH more good OPs than bad, hence an ignore list with, say, 500 users, will be very small considering the whole set of site's OPs.

but before I add, I always open the user profile to check for 2 things:
1 - registered date: if recent, mainly after AC ban, an no or mostly BS threads (I'll explain what this means) since then
2 - threads in last month: it will depend on the 'balance' between BS and interesting/much interesting matters posted; let's say, 2 interesting among 6, or 1 much interesting among 7, I'll hold it up for some more time

I deem normal some people may use to post mixed BS and interesting threads, the point is the proportion.

Now what "BS" threads is TO ME. Related to MY subject interests in GLP. Some examples:

- bibletards
- libtards
- sextards
- pettards
- people that post or comment "commies everywhere" instead of recognizing china & russia have left Mao & Stalin historical communism for already decades and have fought Rotschilds and Rockefellas as much as free western people have tried (Xi & Putin seeking their countries' economic hegemony is ANOTHER subject - after all this is what capitalism is made of, competition and economic / public administration darwinism)
- musictards, sporttards (like some guys that use to post YT clips as "comments" or even threads) like if GLP was facebook)
- attentio whores, like some that post NOT CONSPIRACY threads (like, "look, I've bought a dog", "look, gas prices have raised", "wow look this kind parrot", "what's the best oil for Chevvy 3100" and so on) sometimes 3, 5 times in a week

And that does not mean these guys/gals are "bad", just that their focus in GLP use to be not ALIGNED with mine.
Again, is a matter of making 1st/2nd pages cleaner TO ME, less text to have to deal with.
