I do think you should be able to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. However, the permitting system allows society to imprison people who would otherwise escape justice. Cops rarely solve real crimes. In the course of an investigation they often find a gun on a known criminal. This can lead to more charges or can be grounds for a further search which leads to charges. They catch a a lot of criminals on drug and weapons charges who they would never catch for real crimes. So, while I think all drugs and weapons should be legal there is a lot of benefit in having certain laws. |
