The pearl clutching in the media has already begun.

Well...if the bill passes, lets see where there are more shootings/murders with handguns, Tennessee or Illinois or Chicago or California- all states with very strict handgun control measures.

My guess, is Tennessee will be the lowest total of all these states.

It passed the senate last week, the house yesterday, and is heading to the Governor's office. He'll sign it because he proposed it.

You are absolutely correct in your assumption. Every state that follows the constitution has a much lower rate of gun crime and violent crime overall.

I think that is a great idea. Criminals could not care less what the gun laws are, so make it just as easy for law abiding citizens to defend themselves with the same kind of weapons.

I doubt we'll see it mentioned again because the numbers don't fit the approved narrative.

Our society is deteriorating at such a rate that it seems that you have to be responsible for you own safety.

Maybe more guns will be a deterrent vs less guns and then only the criminals are armed.....

being the victim of someone with a gun doesn't make you an expert they are using victimhood to justify their stance .no system is perfect so any one account used as proof is useless.how often do gun shops get robbed im guessing not many .just from my own perspective id be less likely to use a gun surrounded by them.

The problem lies in the legislature placing restrictions through the permit process in the first place.
Now it takes years of legislative process to roll back those restrictions.
I have never asked permission to exercise my rights and never will.
I still see this as a step in the right direction.
Most governments never relinquish control once they've seized it.
