They have some other methods of communication.

For instance, they used to communicate with subs by ELF.

I know there is at least one other frequency. I used to pick it up when I was dm'ing on my SW. I forgot about ELF.

This darned lock down and not seeing people has messed me up. Already know dementia runs hard in my family. Hope this isn't starting already. I'm not THAT old! LoL

I used to be an avid shortwave listener as well.


That's all stuff I have to look up.

There used to be a couple of really good magazines for SW and HAM, but they went out of business some years ago. One of them would list all the known, popular frequencies. They'd list for air shows, racing, anything that used radios. I thought I'd hung on to a couple of them when we moved, but I guess not. Not everything made it in the last move.

Last I heard...the Ukrainians had massed between 80 and 90,000.


It seems the Russians already have numerical superiority in the event hostilities are initiated by either side.


They do not have sufficient advantage in numbers to invade yet, and a Ukrainian attempt to wrest Crimea, Donbass and Luhansk back would be TRAGICALLY QUIXOTIC right now.

THIS is really what concerns me. I have never seen this in my lifetime (4 decades of news-watching). Usually they always build up the story in the media, so that by the time things may have to get serious, the public knows what's happening and everything is "pre-approved". Having said that, in the past it was always about a potential war with an enemy that was considered significantly weaker.

Now it's really like radio-silence. Nothing, not even confirmed news, get published by the MSM - at a time when there's really absolutely nothing else to talk about!

That's why this time is different, so very different from any other time. Maybe for once it is really so serious, that nobody wants to talk about it in public.

Could also be that this time the plan is so grim, that they rather prefer people take it (whatever is coming at them) in peace & quiet, no prepping, no hoarding, no boarding-up, in the comfort of their own homes.

I have a feeling today will be a busy day.


I think I will get a few more hours sleep.
