Peanut butter is not how I thought it would be | |

But I like the butters made from any nuts I like... a health food store I can no longer get too.. makes a really fine fresh made in the store almond butter.. but I can make it as good at home in my nutri bullet. and I often add whole flax seed to my nut butters....wonderful taste. and cince flax is much cheaper that nuts.. it cuts the cost too. Pistachios make a very interesting nut butter. and I also often when making some nut butter work in some high quality jam. just a bit into it... and then enjoy on a slice of toast or whatever. and treal nut butters have enough oil.. you don't need to add it.. for the one who complained about nuts ground in oil. |

Heard americans rave about it all the time and how they miss it when living in europe. Quoting: SomeoneSpecific It's NOT AT ALL what I had in mind this whole time. I expected it to be creamy, buttery and SWEET. Sort of like snickers paste with less chocolate. It's just ground peanuts in some oil. With some awkward pieces of salt mixed in while there's also a mild sugar taste. It's GROSS. Americans please explain, how is this essential food exactly? I can definitely imagine that it’s an acquired taste. If you don’t grow up with it, where it is ubiquitous and everywhere, then yeah...it’s gotta be weird. I love it...but I’ve also been eating it for nearly 50 years. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

Isn't it the same thing as ground peanuts in oil or butter? Yes. It’s healthier without the sugar and I think tastes much better. I never liked peanut butter until I discovered the natural kind. Same here. The stuff with all the sugar and I don't know what else is nasty. I’ve tried to create a new thread twice in the last few days and they don’t post. Am I blocked from doing this ? I love peanut butter !!! I dunno. Maybe you had a banned word. Try it again and hit the PREVIEW button before trying to hit the POST button. |
