Rep. Matt Gaetz 'paid women via Apple Pay for ecstasy-fueled sex at Florida hotels

Former President Donald Trump's advisors have strongly urged him not to publicly defend GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz who is currently facing a sex crimes investigation, the Daily Beast reported Friday.

Trump has reportedly spent the last week watching the "Gaetzgate" scandal unfold from afar while consulting several advisors about what he should do about one of his most loyal allies.

According to two people familiar with the matter, Trump thinks the allegations against the Florida Republican seem "really bad" but also believes they could be a "smear," the Daily Beast reported.

Among other allegations, Gaetz is accused of reportedly using campaign money to fund travel and other expenses for women, paying women for sex, and participating in a sex game that included a "Harry Potter" challenge and "extra points" for sleeping in sorority houses. I don't believe the age is the problem as many states have age of consent under 18. Washington DC is 16 for example (more than likely to protect the politicians). The issue he's facing is flying a 17 year old across state lines, paying for flight, hotel, etc. He was the only no vote for the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act the House passed. It was passed in the Senate by unanimous consent and signed into law by President Donald J Trump. I find it strange he was the only no vote. Gaetz called the bill "mission creep". A friend of his Joel Greenberg was indicted for improperly accessing a state database to access personal information of people he was in “sugar daddy” relationships with, including a minor victim between the ages of 14 and 17. The 17yo supposedly has told investigators she also had sex with Matt Gaetz who allegedly flew her over state lines to have sex with her. The 17yo claims Greenberg introduced her to Gaetz.

This is such an OBVIOUS POLITICAL PROSECUTION - they would NEVER go after any Democrat for this and I note that Eric Smellwell is STILL on the Intel Committee after sleeping with a Chinese spy and hiring her intern.

This is the thing that Trump did not do that breaks my heart as it may have been our one chance. He should have cleaned out DOJ/FBI and all the Intel agencies and he did nothing. They're even more openly worse then they were before. It's tragic.
