Housing advocates say evictions are continuing at 'full steam,' despite a federal ban millions may be affected
With millions of renters staring down evictions during the global health crisis, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday extended its nationwide ban on evictions until June 30. The order, which had been set to expire March 31, is meant to shield families from being pushed out of their homes.

Where are the landlord advocates? I’ve had rental property and renters always have more rights than the property owners. After those experiences, you couldn’t have given me rental property with $10,000 to boot. I know of a couple who lost everything they had when all 10 of their renters decided not to pay rent and destroy stuff along the way. It almost looked like a coordinated effort.

The property manager where I live in Washington has evicted like 6 people in the last year.
He doesn't give a fuck about the moratorium.

The rules are that the renter must show inability to pay rent is due to the effects of COVID, and the renter must show proof he has applied to state and local agencies for rental assistance, The renter can’t just stop paying rent and hope not to be evicted, although some landlords might think it works that way.
