One person I know who lived in Idaho for many years wants to move to Texas.

The entire state (at least all Federal land, which is a big chunk of the state) is being turned into a NWO park. Shutting down mining, timber, etc. Probably saving it for the Chinese, who will strip it of all value after they finish their take over.

You need to check on current real-estate prices in Idaho, there is a crap ton of homes under $300,000, some under $200,000.

Nice large homes on large acreage is going for $450,000 plus..

I am looking for something small on a half acre or so, I have my eye on 5 right now to go look at while traveling in my RV in Idaho in 2 weeks.. [all 5 under $300,000]

Heck I even know of a property in Idaho on 4 acres, 9 RV spots, a doublewide mobliehome, large barn/shed and a restaurant all for just $295,000..

I might buy it, rent the RV spaces to out of town stoners and serve up pot brownie's in the restaurant..


You need to open your eyes your prices are way off..

I live here, my property went from $600k to 2.5 million in the past 6 years. I am also a real estate agent, so you must be looking in shitholes. Sure, there’s cheap places, but there’s a reason they are cheap. A 2200 sf 20 year old house just sold for $600k in my neighborhood and it’s on less than a .25 acre. So sure, you can find lots of cheap places but you can find the same shitty place in Nevada so stay there.

I am not buying in a area with a neighborhood, I am looking at more remote areas outside of the towns, not in town/cities where prices are over inflated where you can walk down the street to your local Star Bucks and buy coffee for 8 bucks or cross the street and eat slime burgers at McDonalds..

Rural life is what I am after and yes rural properties are half what they are in the cities and not in snobby neighborhoods such as yours..

Although I am a welcoming individual by nature, I have to say that you are not going to fit in up here in north Idaho. People up here just don't have a chip on their shoulder like you do, and you will not be happy here with that colossal attitude you've got. Maybe down by Boise you will find some more aggressive and wound-up people to hang around with. You sound way too pushy and judgmental for the likes of us.

My replies are to clowns that say I cant live in Idaho and should stay where I am, they are wrong and my attitude is a response to some clown posters on here.

My thread was about areas to buy in Idaho and most of the posters have gave me the bad attitude saying dont come, stay away, you wont fit in..

I have been to Idaho many times as well as Montana and meant many nice people but it appears the assholes in Idaho are GLPers...

I’m not a snob, just trying to keep another a**hole who wants to change everything from moving here! We are getting sick of it, to be honest. And the only reason my property went up so much was because they can throw 24 houses on it and I’m a few miles from downtown. We have seriously considered selling and moving out further and have been looking but property values have practically doubled in the past year. The reason I say shithole is because there ARE a lot of areas that have massive drug problems and that are in the middle of the desert. He can find that in Nevada. Idahoans are friendly and good people and I would like to keep it that way. No one cares if you smile pot but we also don’t want pot shops on every corner.

The only part of Idaho which does not have harsh winters is the Treasure Valley/Boise area but of course that is where everyone lives, including myself. Really most of Southern Idaho is easy in the winter time. Idaho is great and so is Boise but the people are not as friendly. Most are nice but the bad one are really bad and there are more of them everyday. I moved to Boise in 2001 to go to Boise State University and stayed after I graduated. I left in 2016 but came back in 2019 and boy did the people change in those 3 years and not for the better.

Population is exploding in the Boise area and Idaho in general so you can imagine what that is doing to housing costs. In the end, I welcome you to Idaho because we are not all assholes and understand you do not need permission to move to another state. But maybe I have a different viewpoint because I grew up as a military brat and moving and making new friends was a way of life. Do not listen to those who say to stay away because they are either "lifers" who have never left the state or they are transplants themselves and now that they have their piece of the pie they do not want anyone else to get any.

Yes I have been searching for properties in Idaho for over 3 months and found thousands with homes in good shape under $450,000 in the rural areas..

Funny... radioactive water won't persuade people to leave my town, but yet they keep dying anyways.

I think the best spot for you, would be somewhere in North Idaho.. ... perhaps Rathdrum.. they got good acreages there, lots of trees and so forth. Been there many times.

At least the Californians are moving in here and they've just built 3 huge mansions across the river outside my town here. We're a small town and already are getting overwhelmed by these people.

People are agitated over this, they're even starting to harass these Californians and I don't blame them. They're pissed.. and are starting to get pissy more.. our town is 90 percent PRO-GUN and this is scary. A lot of changes have happened here and well.. I am thinking about moving away too, but can't really afford it.. but at least I can go camping up north, perhaps permanently... if it comes to it.

My brother in law has $250K cash to buy a 1 BR home in Idaho or Montana. He's been looking for the last 3 months, and have found nothing that is habitable. Real Estate prices have gone up 50% in the last 6 months, due to people bailing out of blue state cities. He can't even find a mobile home there.

Where has he been looking in the larger cities, yes $250,000 don't get much but go rural and he will find plenty..

As for me I am not looking for work, just a retirement/doom stead place so rural I can go..

Its cheaper outside the cities and towns...


Same thing even in southern California, in San Diego it cost over $300,000 for a older 700 square foot 1 bedroom condo, but drive east of San Diego 1 hour and for around $350,000 you get a 1200 square foot house on a 1/4 acre lot..

Real-estate prices have sky rocketed in just about any large city or medium size city anywhere..

Get out of the cities and get the same house for half the price..

Just on Realtor.com only there is 1451 single family homes listed right now in Idaho all under $350,000, and most are in good shape.

If you change the listing to any home, such as mobile, land, townhouse, single family and farm there is 5000 under $350,000.

And that is just Realtor.com, many more listed on other realtor sites as well and sale by owner sites..

Its there folks you just need to look.
