Remember when cameras weren't allowed in courtrooms? And that's why that had courtroom artists drawing pictures of the scene...

Apparently that's not the case anymore.

There also used to be a time when people would notice such things when they change, and question it and discuss it.

Drug dealer is in Jail he was supposed to testify today but his Lawyer has him pleading the fifth amendment.

I have not been following the trial so I might be behind the 8 ball here but there seem to be a number of interesting aspects. Just a couple:

It doesn't seem that anyone has discussed that Chauvin & Saint George actually knew each other & literally worked in the same bar. I would think that in itself might give motives for killing someone for reasons other than apparent in any videos. Personal reasons. And yet, I don't think that's been mentioned which I find VERY ODD.

Also, I agree with your point, methods of restraint do have to be reviewed, but I think - and I am NOT a fan of the police in generally, been too well reminded lately of the term POLICE STATE - but police DO have to have some way of restraining incredibly violent or crazed people who want to escape or do harm to others. We who have not done this work can't imagine what it's like to have to restrain a large drugged man like a George Floyd. With sufficient drugs & adrenaline he might be able to hold his own against several cops. I probably would have clubbed him into unconsciousness & that's what they would have done when I was a kid, so there have been some changes.

My problem with Chauvin is his prior history of negative events and I have to wonder if this guy should have been on the force at all, or if that is just what it takes to be "effective" in that setting. We can't judge just by videos as we see. The body cam video, which should have been shown immediately after this event, gives a completely different angle, literally, to what happened between Chauvin & Floyd. We were looking at what amounted to an optical illusion, and all these cities & violence & deaths occurred because of that. AN OPTICAL ILLUSION.

Much blame is to be put on those who deliberately withheld the body cam video that gave the actual angle of what Chauvin was doing. THEY SHOULD BE SUED.
