Re: Buried deep in the Taisho Tripitaka Buddhist Cannon, I found several ancient Christian texts
This is an awesome thread and I will certainly be back to follow your findings, OP.

I have always loved culture. At one point in time I was researching the life of Pachacuti, the 9th and most powerful of the Incan rulers, who rose to power in South America in 1438. Pachacuti claimed that a man with a beard (unknown to the Inca) wearing a white robe appeared to him on the mountainside and introduced himself as Viraococha: "The Creator of all things."

Inca Pachacuti was the only ruler to abolish sun worship, saying that the sun also was created and obeyed a higher power: the Creator God. He also told about a flood, and other teachings of the Creator that align with Christianity.

Pachacuti wrote this hymn:

To Viracocha, power over all that exists, be it male or female,
Holy, Lord, Creator of newborn light. Why are Thou? Where art thou?
Is it not possible for me to see Thee? In the world above, or in the world below,
Or wheresoever in the world Thy mighty throne is to be found?
In the heavenly ocean or the seas of the earth, where is Thy habitation? O Pachacamac, (Maker of the world)
Creator of man,
Lord, Thy servants desire that their feeble eyes may behold Thee…

The sun, the moon, the day, the night, the summer and the winter are not free:
From Thee they receive their instructions, and Thee they obey. They approach that which has already been ordained…

Where and upon whom hast Thou bestowed Thy shining scepter?
With a joyful mouth, with a joyful tongue, day and night shalt Thou call. Fasting, Thou shalt sing with the voice of the nightingale.
And perhaps in our joy, in our good fortune, from whatever corner of the world, the Creator of man, the Lord almighty, shall hear.
Thee…
Creator of the world on high and of the world below, Creator of the mighty ocean, Vanquisher of all things, where art Thou? Speak,
Come, Truth from on high, Truth from the deep, Molder of the world, Power over all that exists, sole Creator of man, ten times will I worship Thee with my feeble eyes.
What splendor!
Before Thee will I prostrate myself. Hear me, O Lord! Give ear unto me O Lord!

I post this story to say I believe that Jesus did perhaps appear to all who were devout and searching - all over the world.

Finally caught up w/ this thread and this by gawd is what makes GLP great!

OP, thx for sharing and yes, it helps me w/ the context of those 30+ missing yrs from Jesus chronological life time span. I've always believed he was traveling among the Essene tribe as well as other countries' wise men of knowledge.
And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. That is what I call 'sustained incoherence.' ...David Bohm

Jesus was a Buddhist. Most of his teachings were taken from Eastern Religions.

The Psalms all read very much like Eastern Religions, almost Confucianism with morals.

The Psalms are included in the OT. They are not part of Jesus Christ's teachings.

I don't see it that way. Yeshua embodies the entire OT, Psalm 22 is huge. Others as well.

I just don't think you can separate Yeshua from the OT. Talmud" Yeah...but even rabbinical teachings often show Yeshua.

Threads like this are gems. This is just another reason why I love GLP so much.

Re: Buried deep in the Taisho Tripitaka Buddhist Cannon, I found several ancient Christian texts
Where exactly was that written?
 Quoting: Agent 99

According to the folk who wrote it, it's about "a royal figure, usually King David or Queen Esther," and according to the Christians, Jesus was quoting the first line. He would have, of course, known these things by heart, having studied them extensively in his youth.
 Quoting: Alien Seb Fiend

After the passover, it was custom to sing Psalm 118, as referenced by Mark, it is a long song and they knew it by heart. So on the cross Jesus refered to Psalm 22.not by the number but by the first line"Eloi, Eloi, lamasabachtami"(sp_). He was not crying out that God deserted him. The original OT did not have chapters and verses and the Psalms even have different numbers in the latter ones.

When the printing press was discovered, THE PRINTERS decided it was way too confusing and added the chapers and verses. In the time of CHrist up to today, the Rabbis identified the psalms by their first sentance, like the 91st would be " He who dwelleth in the shadow of the most hight" and the 118th would be " my GOD, my GOD etc" Jesus was referring the onlookers to that psalm as it accurately described the torment and death he was going through.

I might add the printers also being very expensive and the protestant germans decided to discard seven books of the Bible to save cost, amoung them the beautiful book of Tobit which describes the Archangel of Healing, Raphel...

Like many of you, I was taught the Jesuits brought Christianity to China in the 1500s. Turns out they were Johnnie-come-latelies.

1500's???

You should look up the "tradition" that
the Apostle Thomas went to China.

Most "scholars" will teach that Christianity
didn't start in China until about the 4-5th Century.

lol if you believe the septuagint to be written prior to the apostle pauls revelations of how christ fulfilled the prophets you are being misled to dismiss the spirit of truths revelation of prophetic meaning and instead dismissing it as down to a greek ot translation !! for this reason the septuagint has to be later written based upon the nt & the popes r claiming it to be older than the nt in order to decieve!
