A serious question, hopefully someone on GLP is medically intelligent to clarify:

I have a friend (55 y.o.) overseas who I know for many years. Rarely, if ever, he was sick from a flu or other infectious diseases.

He got the Pfizer vaccine a month ago. Just before his second jab I’ve talked to him (last week) over the phone and he was sounding like he have a stuffy nose. What happened, I’ve asked, he said - oh, I was just waiting on line to pay a bill and was chilly, I probably got cold.

This past Friday I’ve talked to him again and he told me he have tested positive for Covid. No other symptoms but something like sinus infection. He is on some immune stimulants and blood thinners. Quarantined for 14 days. Lost sense of smell and taste. That’s it. No fever.

Curiously enough his wife tested negative. She had both jabs. And that’s that.

Today I’ve read that a well known journalist, 61 yrs old, passed away, suddenly, supposedly from Covid after he had BOTH jabs.

I just don’t get it.. This vaccine supposedly should protect you.
