They need the internet as badly as the people think they do. Periodic shutdowns are more than likely, frequent outages blamed on terrorist, state actors, etc.

Have you not taken notice of those bizarre metallic electrical poles that been crisscrossing the U.S. since sometime in the Year 2020? There is at least one such stretch in my town. I am fairly certain this has up to everything to do with that Stimulus Package that Trump signed into Law last year that dealt with our nation's infrastructure. Quite alot of money was put into new infrastructure. I figure most likely this new infrastructure is the 5G enabled spy tech that is meant and designed to ceaselessly peer into everyone's daily lives even into our most private moments.
