The problem is people tend to form opinions and the stick with them. People tend to be moved by emotional testimony. And people today are less rational than in the past. So the fact the prosecution goes first and overloaded the jury with emotional testimony works against acquittal. But the prosecution’s case is objectively terrible to the point of being non existent. So hopefully some jurors are good and see that.
