Will the defense be able to bring up GF's criminal past?

Yes - specifically his 2019 arrest

Witness just testified that Chauvin was 140 pounds at time of incident
 Quoting: Simple27

I wouldn't even tell you how much I, a 65 year old woman, outweigh Chauvin by. I could have probably crushed him.

Yeah at 140 pounds one could legitimately say they were in fear for their life that the hulking Floyd might get back up and become combative.

Seems Chauvin was 5' 9" 140. That is small. He'd have a tough time taking me down.

What is more interesting is this expert said an officer's equipment weights 30-40 pounds. I find that hard to believe. I say 20 or maybe 25 pounds max. The only thing that would be heavy is the vest. I don't know how much the one's Minneapolis police wear.

Seriously. I think I last weighed 140 lbs when I was 12. That's a pretty small guy. And I think the other guys were smaller. We are asking completely unreasonable things from cops.I'd have given Chauvin a medal for keeping Floyd down. That he died, is Floyd's own fault. At some point, people HAVE to start taking responsibility for THEMSELVES.

I think only what that state has brought up, I haven’t paid attention to much

Usually you can’t bring up past criminal acts if they don’t pertain to the case, I may be wrong though

But his girlfriend brought up an overdose GF had months before his death that had in in the hospital 5 days

.they just said part of the 2019 arrest will be permitted

I'm in awe of Attorney Nelson. He's an excellent lawyer. He isn't even that old, but somehow he is outsmarting all those prosecutors and he's scoring points on all their witnesses. He hasn't even begun to present his case. This is going to get real interesting.

That’s because their case is so weak for murder, media has blown it out of proportion

But I agree, I like him too!

If anyone is watching this on HLN they have a panel of experts during recesses. Some of them are reasonable and some are just plain radicals.

I read that in the first 30 seconds. Hopefully there are a couple of people on that jury who will not bend for mob rule.

The one black fellow who talks like he's white sounds like he would personally execute Chauvin. He is not really being objective at all as the others are. I really don't think the guy should be on the panel because at some point it's going to become clear that this will likely end in acquittal and he's going to go ballistic. The forensics guy seems to be the most in touch with what's really going on in the trial, and he too is eager to see what the ME says when put on the stand.

Probably much like watching the young Turks during the first Trump election! They were all reduced to screaming, cussing, and crying when it all became apparent that Trump had won. It will be much like that if and when Chauvin is rightly found not guilty!

No, the judge on HLN as a pundit critiquing the trial

He’s all for nailing chauvin

Based on how this is going, I think Sgt. Jody Stiger's career as a professional expert witness is going to be quite short.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
