One year... ONE YEAR... and it was virtually GONE. Yes, a tremendous number of people perished, but that's because there was zero medical treatments for anything back then.

Herd-immunity is the ONLY way we ever get back to a sense of normalcy. I don't know the exact number, but it's less than 1% death rate, right? If only people would be smart and make a trip to the local drug and feed and tack stores. EVERYTHING needed is there.

Actually the Spanish Flu of 1918 had 4 waves, over the course of a few years.

That's well documented historical fact, huh. Some of us are old enough to have known people who lived through it, our great-grandmas, for example :D

The covid death rate in USA is currently, supposedly, 1.81%, which comes out to 5.7 million people if every one of your 320 million citizens had it. Is 5.7 million deaths acceptable for the sake of everyone else's immunity?

The math comes out to about 900 thousand deaths in Canada.

I won't even go into the "it's all fake!" thing, that's a personal choice to believe or disbelieve.

By the summer of 1919, the flu pandemic came to an end, as those that were infected either died or developed immunity.

Unemployment insurance, some other financial programs are also available.
Regardless of that, the lockdown is a spirit killer for many, staying home, fearful, lethargic, emotionally draining for many.
Suicides are up, depression and alcoholism is up, not good.

Besides, the history channel is a tabloid tv show channel, it's really not a good source.

I mean, just google 1918 pandemic and you will get a gazillion sources explaining that it was a 4 wave pandemic over 2 years.

No, I said that would be the theoretical cost of herd immunity based off the supposed statistics, if you let every single citizen be infected, based off the current death rate there. Whether these statistics are real or not is up to you to decide.

This hurts me also, have to build a privacy fence around the backyard and won't have time to buy lumber today; the price of lumber went though the roof, i just checked Home Depot and Lowes, a 1x6x6 fence picket is 6.80 cad, used to be 2-3 cad. Perhaps i shouldn't bother with home improvements , communism is here, we won't own anything.

Rough math.

If you go with 50 million deaths from SF1918 it works out to 2.7% of population. In todays numbers that would be 211 million deaths. This is nowhere near that.

Everyone including them are and will continue pay for their overreaction and using it to further their own agenda.

They want depopulation? "Children of Men" was a plan not a movie. Great. What are they going to do when it blows up in their face and they are ones who are eliminated? When they are the ones found to be infertile. They were warned. What is the price of their greed?

Actually I rarely use one and then for a long time did the chin-diaper thing, until the store guys started kicking people out. I wouldn't be able to drive with a mask, my glasses get all fogged up real quick. So annoying! Don't assume.






I do too, like I said it's up to each and every individual to decide on their own. As for the stats I used, I used the 1.81% deathrate figure from the worldmeter site, instead of some government statistic.

Death rate of people infected, not death rate of uninfected total population, mind you. Calculate it again based off all 320 million being infected for herd immunity.

This is just theory crafting for intellectual purposes, even Sweden abandoned it's herd immunity tactic.
