Few times but in my theory I didn't survive.

My memory was just erased 10 minutes before actual death and I was just respawn back in the game.

Drowned in a lake when I was 4, I remember bubbles going up and a movie playing in my head of my family.

While sledding on tire tubes ran into a tree stump, major concussion, age 15.

White water rafting accident, got stuck in a waterfall, was rolling in it and drowning, it finally spit me out and other rafters retrieved me floating down the river, age 40 (also broke my ankle).

Another white water accident, was thrown out and went airborne and hit a large Boulder causing a Skull fracture (back of skull) all blood and swelling went external creating a huge bump on back of head, had the swelling gone inward I would be dead, was very confused, couldn’t think etc, was in a foreign country when it happened, was a higher power that kept me alive. Worst pain I ever felt, was 47.

Needless to say, I’ve had too many close encounters so now I just take iit easy, no more pushing the envelope.

Only spiritual death, and if I am honest, I would say I have to pick up my pace running from that...

My kid just cheated death. The way you love your child it feels like I cheated death too because if he had not made it my heart would have died.

Head on collision with a parked car while drag racing in Dallas back in 87. I was clinically dead for several minutes. When I finally regained consciousness the EMT's said I had be 'gone' several minutes and nothing they were doing was reviving me. What I saw on the other side is what pushed me back to life and I will believe that until I finally pass on for good.

No, but the love of my life survived stage 3b non small cell lung cancer at age 37. His cancer had a 20% chance of survival, his surgery a 30% chance of surviving the surgery itself.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
One day I was sleeping and woke up to the sound of heavy wind and small branches hitting the roof. I decide to get up and look out the window, and as soon as I do I hear the loud sound of a tree cracking and notice the tree outside the window was starting to fall towards me, I ran and jumped across the room before the tree crashed into the house.

Another time I was with a group of idiots trespassing on someone's property to smoke weed. I didn't realize we were trespassing because we parked along a road and followed a trail onto the property, and there were no fences or signs. All of a sudden one of the kids starts yelling "Run!" and the property owner started shooting at us as we ran into the woods.

Yeah, tons of opiate overdoses and alcohol poisonings, sometimes both. I’m surprised I’m still alive because I know people who have died taking much less.

Somehow I always woke up.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
When I was 18 years old I was an alcoholic.

I lived on the Northwest part of town. I went to a party way over on the eastside because a friend of mine knew this girl having the party and she invited us.

I drove over there in my 1969 Pontiac LeMans with another friend of mine.

I got extremely drunk. So drunk that I couldn't drive home. My friend took my keys and he drove while I slept. At about 3:00 AM he woke me up and said "You have to drive, I can't drive anymore...and I'm Lost".

I looked around and figured out where we were. He had driven East and he went 60 miles in the wrong direction.

I started driving the car. I drove the sixty miles and it was about 4AM. I found the highway, went through the city and went North, I was two exits from our home exit when I fell asleep at the wheel.

My car was in the middle lane, late at night a tractor trailer was in the left lane travelling fast enough that it went past us. I woke up with the collision. I looked out of my front window, and the rear end of the tractor trailer was about 3 feet from my face. The car had gotten hooked under the back end of the tractor trailer and we were travelling about sixty miles an hour. I screamed and woke my friend up, or the collision woke him...don't know for sure.

The car suddenly came loose of the truck, spun out of control and wound up on the pavement on the right side of the highway. The front end of the car was destroyed. The truck never stopped, either not realizing what had happened, or not caring.

Neither of us had a scratch. We started walking to the exit of the highway (no cell phones back then). When we were walking down the exit ramp a cop car pulled up and asked if that was our car.

We explained what happened in the sense that we got dragged by a speeding truck and came lose. He told us he didn't believe us, but he could find no evidence that we had struck any guard rail or anything. He drove us back to the exit where he found us. It about 4 am. We both walked the five miles to our homes.

At 5:30am I woke my mother up and told her I had been in an accident and that my car was destroyed. She said, "God has a reason for you to be alive" and she went back to bed.

I've never figured out that reason. He still makes fun of the way I screamed.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
Yes, but not without finding that Devine intervention is a real thing.
When I was a kid, I was really into pushing myself to the outer reaches of the limits. I wanted to be a stunt man so bad. One day when both my parents were at work, I was about 10, I decided to make a grappling hook attached to a rope. The grappling hook part was an old piece of aluminum fencing that was bent up. I eyed the tallest tree in the yard and threw the hook up as far as I could and started climbing. When I reached the first point, I unraveled the hood and decided to throw it up again to the next point. I was determined to reach the top. About 75 percent of the way up I was pulling myself up to the next branch when the hook gave and I started to drop. My feet flew up past my body and the right leg of my jeans got caught on a broken branch and I came to a hard stop and slammed my head against the trunk while hanging upside down. I was panicking and looked up to see what I got stuck on and....I saw what appeared to be an arm sticking out of the tree and was holding onto my jeans. I couldn't believe what I saw and looked again, only this time the arm was gone and there was that broken branch that jabbed into the end of the leg on my jeans. I didn't quite understand what I saw that day, but later on as I got older I started to realize what actually happened - Devine Intervention. It wasn't my time.

Of course, and thanks for asking. The 2nd accident that also caused the broken ankle was miraculously healed, thought I was getting bit by thousands of something inside my cast, was told to remove it and walk, which I did. Dr was amazed because they had expats showing the break.

Without going into much detail let’s just say I’m now walking out a divine destiny. I pay attention to that still small voice now, FIRST! I’ve promised myself that one day I will write a book of my mis-adventures. I’ve had a lot of supernatural experiences..

I was about 23 at the time. I passed through what appeared to be a kaleidoscope of bright soothing lights. At the end was my mother who had passed away when I was a child. I was so glad to see her and felt truly loved at that time, more than ever. She told me I could not stay. I had something to do that I would understand in time, but I could not remain with her now. That my life would give life to others, nd it needed to be so.

The trip back into my body was like being pulled through a vacuum and then the pain hit. It was like the best dream I ever had and it ended abruptly.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
More than once.

Three scariest examples:

Our ambulance almost slid off the Inola bridge transporting a very sick man, and good friend, in an ice storm. I was in the back, as we were sliding, unbuckling my friend and patient, so we could all three dive out of the truck as we sled toward a 90 foot drop.

Our was standing to the left of a door when a drunk Indian shot out a motel door because we were their to treat his injured girlfriend. He blasted the door with double 00. Left a pie plate size hole in the door at the exact spot where my partner was standing a moment earlier when I said, "hey, step over here by me."

Our air boat stalled while rescuing a lady and her kids off a bridge during a flood. I was tethered to an old iron bridge when the air boat died and drifted out to the end of the mooring line. I could feel the bridge shuddering with the force of the water.

On my right hand side, a twenty to thirty feet raging Oklahoma creek swollen out of its banks. To my left, a roadway covered in eighteen inches of water. Just enough water to throw her minivan against the iron railing. Somewhere there is a great photo of it with the caption.

"Paramedic Clarence Winchester (not my real name, duh) stands on the rail of the Undisclosed Creek Bridge as Firefighter Great Guy attempts to restart air boat engine."

Honestly, I think number three still makes me a little queasy.

And you know everyday in this country, there are volunteer firefighters and EMTs that do those same things with little more than a "thank you". While fucking fat, useless cunts like Henry Kissinger try to remind us how expendable we all are to them.
