Someone must've called 911 to get the 5-0 out there. Were you charged with a 501? 10-4.

No, thankfully. It was 2 AM and I had some buddies in the car and we were looking for someplace to eat. I pulled into a Carl's Jr. that had been open 24 hours but no longer was. I made an illegal left turn out of the parking lot (it was 2 AM) and headed down a residential street toward a taco place I knew was open. Buddies and I had been drinking for hours, as well as snorting coke. It was a long time ago.

I get this car on my tail, I'm doing 25 down this street and am getting tailgated. So I sped up a little. Car is still on my ass, so I sped up a little more. Still there. I sped up a little more and so did he. I looked at my buddy and asked, "Does this guy want to race?"

I floored it, and the car was still behind me. I said, "Watch this be a cop", and that's about when the red/blues came on.

VC Deputy gave me a sobriety test, and then called a supervisor out. The both of them then gave me another sobriety test. I was then told I would be cited for the 75 in a 25 and open container. They told me to drive straight home and not stop to get something to eat.

We did stop at Denny's on the way home. We were hungry.

That was an expensive ticket, about $275 which was over a week's wages for me back then.

But not cheating death.
