I drank booze and took Xanex, together, abusing both, for far too long. Never died. I quit cold turkey (both at the same time) 10 years ago. Should have died but didn't.

I am sure some of you have even died before. If so, welcome back.

I have no idea. Whatever I was then was nothing. My body eventually took over and my soul or whatever we call us, came back to it. Very slowly and with very severe after effects.

I didn't learn calculus and I couldn't play piano after but this many years later I am somewhat at peace with what is coming, at least for me.

It seems like it might be the Universe's ultimate solitary confinement. You keep your thoughts but you are less than an atom to express them.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
In 1984, drank a bottle of tequila before joining some friends to go four wheeling in the back country of the Black Hills in South Dakota. The driver was wasted as well. We went up on a hill and over corrected, jeep came down hit a tree and the jeep flipped. I got shot out the back seat of the jeep through the top and landed on my back. Slid a while till the tree the jeep hit fell on me, breaking a couple ribs and puncturing a lung. Walked away without any issues after healing.

My first ~120mph wheelie into a 10-second tank slapper definitely scared me the most. That wobble had my life flashing...
 Quoting: REaliZe

i jumped a canal bridge at 85mph, got air about height of a small house, crossed it up mid-flight and nailed the landing only to get into a moderate tank slapper, no fun. probably the dumbest thing i ever did on a bike.

i have never owned a bike capable of 120mph wheelies and likely never will cause i know what would happen peace

I have a 1979 Honda CBX out in the shed right now. Engine needs a rebuild. 6 cyl. Would wheelie at any speed, but I think those days are behind me now.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
being an excellent swimmer, i was in cali and hit the beach. the waves looked ok nothing huge so i decide to go body surfing which ive did all over the world.
i got caught in a rip tide which is just a giant undertoe and i could not break loose. the water was just over my head so i had to keep jumpimg to get air. try as i might i couldnt get out and exhausted myself. as i said to myself this is how it ends? my life started flashing in front of me. yes its true. like a quick movie.
2 woman saw me and started to swin out tword me and i screamed stop its dangerous. 1 woman returned to shore to get a life guard and the other got caught up with me in the rip tide ,now there are two of us drownding. somehow i made it too her we locked arms and for the first time i could fight the rip tide or rather us. as the tide went out i dug my feet into the bottom and wasnt swept back. the guard makes it out with a buoy with a rope which we grab and get towed into shore. i went into mild shock and was hyperventilatimg. the paramedics were called and checked me out. i refused service.went to where i was staying was was sick as a dog the rest of the day including high fever. In my heart of heart i believe God intervened because it wasnt my time. ill never forget struggling with all my strength to fight that tide only to be thrown back the oposite wave. i was never able to thank the 2 woman. maybe one will read this. God Bless You

Yes.

I was run over by a mini-van, ran right up my leg, up my back and all the way to my neck. I think the tire spun my head out cause, well, I still have a head and didn't die.

I have some gnarly pictures of tire tracks all over me. I ended up getting a tattoo of tire tracks with the date I was run over.

Shattered the back of my skull when I was 8, docs told parents if I survive the 15+ operation I would most likely be in vegetative state

Survived the surgery, was in a coma for about 3 weeks

They left the hole in my skull to for bone growth and I had a plate put in at 10

No, thankfully. It was 2 AM and I had some buddies in the car and we were looking for someplace to eat. I pulled into a Carl's Jr. that had been open 24 hours but no longer was. I made an illegal left turn out of the parking lot (it was 2 AM) and headed down a residential street toward a taco place I knew was open. Buddies and I had been drinking for hours, as well as snorting coke. It was a long time ago.

I get this car on my tail, I'm doing 25 down this street and am getting tailgated. So I sped up a little. Car is still on my ass, so I sped up a little more. Still there. I sped up a little more and so did he. I looked at my buddy and asked, "Does this guy want to race?"

I floored it, and the car was still behind me. I said, "Watch this be a cop", and that's about when the red/blues came on.

VC Deputy gave me a sobriety test, and then called a supervisor out. The both of them then gave me another sobriety test. I was then told I would be cited for the 75 in a 25 and open container. They told me to drive straight home and not stop to get something to eat.

We did stop at Denny's on the way home. We were hungry.

That was an expensive ticket, about $275 which was over a week's wages for me back then.

But not cheating death.

That's incredible. Here's a tip to sound even tougher: Less "mini-van", more "truck" or "SUV".

Trust me, I drive a mini-van. Even homeless people roll their eyes at me.

Re: Have you cheated DEATH before?
I dodged death once. In 2012. I was standing in the same place that a mortar round landed within 10 seconds of it hitting the ground. Six of my guys were wounded. Death does not scare me. Not because of that though. I battled cancer years later. After that battle, I no longer have a healthy fear of death.

Had a Sheriff's 9mm Beretta pointed straight at my forehead from about 6 inches years ago. He said, 'Get on the floor'!'

I responded, "no problem' and I got on the floor.

Thankfully, his training kicked in and I didn't get shot.

Not like that Paradise, CA cop we the jury convicted about 5 years ago.

Yes. In 1992, I was in the hospital for 7 days. Had a NDE and even had a Catholic Priest come to ask me questions after I recovered.
