Say Bye-Bye to your AR pistols!  Not necessarily, just take the stabilizing brace off and run a bare buffer tube. His 'proposed rule" as it states, clearly mentions braces. Now granted, they could just say that applies to ALL ar's with a short barrel, but meh, most of us are ignoring him anyway. What I'm reading is this: The Justice Department will PROPOSE a rule to change certain things. These things are managed by the ATF. If the ATF chooses to implement the rule, it will most certainly be challenged in court where it will need to explain why it's changed its position based on a request from the president. If the ATF had had a long standing position that the laws permit XY & Z then they suddenly changed them, they'll need a good reason. I don't see how this ccould stand. It circumvents legislation and I cannot imagine a court disagreeing.
