This indeed is medical tyranny. Know a good vet? /jk (well, maybe not)

Don't even know if there are any private GPs who would be able to help you out. If you need muscle/tendon reattached, yeah, that's surgery.

Good luck. Know that you're not the only person in that boat also.

I'm not, was just feeling alone. May need to find a good vet. Hmm

Yes Tendon needs to be fished up and reattached.

Thank you

Re: Refused Covid test today, decision is life altering.
Badly injured my thumb a couple of days ago, completely severing a tendon in my dominate hand thumb. Took off work this afternoon for surgery and they wanted a c-19 test when I walked thru the door...

I said no, and went back to the car and called the office to explain it was a matter of principle, and didn't want to be treated like cattle. Was transferred to someone who actually tried to help, but the office required the test since they didn't have some type of cleaning robots that allowed the larger hospitals not to require the test.

My options were to wait until the May, when the mandate is no longer but lowering the likelihood of successful surgery to 5-10%, take the test, or loose the extension function of my top thumb joint.

Or hopefully find a place in Oklahoma that will perform the surgery. May require cash instead of insurance.

So work is going to be wtf? and have to face that on Monday.

I sit here wondering if lurking this site has helped or harmed me and questioning my very sanity.

Just take the test and get your thumb fixed. Done. What harm is there in a test?

I am 100% anti-test and vax, but if I was in the same situation, I would bite the bullet and do the test. take a netty pot (saline nasal bath) with you and flush out the area as soon as the test is done.
 Quoting: Happy in Nature

Netty pot is a decent idea. But am afraid it will take some strength to say no out of me. Give in once, may give in again. "Faithful in little, faithful in much" my mom used to say.

I'm pretty fucking amazed it made it to page 2 without anyone calling OP an absolute fucking retard.

Sure I could see turning down surgery over the vax, but a test?

Would you lose use of your thumb if they wanted to test you for hepatitis or AIDS?

You're about to become permanently disabled over nothing.

You trust them to put you under anesthesia which could be fatal if done wrong, but don't trust them when they say COVID exists and they want to know if you have it before getting all up in your shit?

Why are you even seeking medical attention in the first place???

What's the big deal with just taking the stupid test? it will show whatever it shows, and you get your hand fixed. You could be permanently disabled.

I can see not taking the vaccine, but what harm does the test do you? Unless you are buying that it has Morgellon fibers in the swab, what harm does it do to play their game to get the help you need?
 Quoting: Justice4all

And this is the root of the question. I've seen those videos, and they must have weighed in my decision at some level. Reading GLP day in and out you get these tidbits of info written into the subconscious / decision tree.

Possible I've just rationalized it to be about control and submittal, and it's really just that fear. Or DNA sampling, or the virus is on the swab, or or or...

You say play the game / nothing to fear. Noted.. not sure if that works for me or not.

I encourage all to reflect and decide prior to being in a tough circumstance. Split second decisions matter. I lost my cool a bit, was hangry from fasting...

Tell he doc you want the blood test do he. It will show if you've ever had it. F it comes back positive, you don't need the vaccine. Negative proves you're not sick so no need for the shot.

Then get the surgery done. Sooner is better but a few weeks one way or even other won't matter. I had one reattached in my thumb two years later and it went fine. Need to get another one done that has been bugging me for almost a year. It'll work out fine.

Good luck!

I've done this 3 times to both of my thumbs. Yes there is lengthy pain to deal with. Yes if you don't get it fixed it could permanently limit your dexterity in that hand to an unknown degree. But say you get surgery and two days later you die from an unrelated cause. Are you going to be able to live with your decision? Will that decision have implications beyond the exit from this plane? personally I'd rather deal with the consequences of learning to live with it than compromise my integrity, let alone just the act of conformity. I've been a professional mechanic among other things for 30+ years. After the pain is gone the effect on my dexterity is not enough to notice.

Why help? Hopefully the thumb is all twisted and malformed without surgery.

We need to get OP out of the gene pool, a deformed thumb might just do the trick ain't nobody getting a date with that shit.

Nothing personal OP, this is just some survival of the human race stuff. Doesn't matter if it's mental illness or just low IQ, your family tree can't be allowed to branch out.

I had this problem too.
They insisted I take a test for covid.

I insisted it be a stool sample and to hold out their hands.

I remind them whenever I go I will be willing to take another test in the waiting room as before.
