If you are in Tulsa proper there is nothing to worry about. It's all already past you and there are no tornado warnings for your area.

It would be good for you, seeing as how you are in the belly of tornado alley, to download a radar app. That way you can confirm for yourself the status of your weather situation regardless of the circumstances.

It probably sounds really scary because of how hard the rain is, and there is definitely circulation, but it has weakened and it looks like it's just cruising on east - away from you :)

And I understand. I live in central OK. I grew up not being the slightest bit concerned about tornadoes. My dad would put us in the hallway and go stand on the porch and watch them fly on by. They never touched us.

But then that May 3rd tornado happened that wiped out everything as far as we could see starting from 3 houses down from ours. Since that day, I have been absolutely terrified of tornadoes.

Are you up in Wagner rather than Tulsa?

I'm looking at the radar right now. There was a tornado warning for just south of Tulsa but it has been allowed to expire. If that's where you are you're just going to get some loud thunder and some wind, maybe some hail.

I take that back. You're right. Things are looking rough in other places. Yipes!

Yeah, my mom is close to Muskogee and it's raining pretty hard there, but no tornadoes.

It's dark. We do get tornados in the dark, but they aren't common.

At most, it will be a severe thunderstorm, assuming this isn't a freak event (which, given the times, maybe it is). I really think you will be okay.

if you have time, get a mattress and put it over you and the tub. It could save your life.

Bumping for visibility and hopefully top pin. Must say I'm glad the tornadoes we get in PA are infrequent and usually relatively minor. Feel bad for you guys who have to deal with these huge storms every year. Stay safe OP

Praying that you are safe! I lived in Altus from the ages of one to five; while memories of that time are sporadic and fleeting, the spine chilling sound of the tornado siren will be with me forever. Our entire family would gather and hide under the kitchen table with a radio, candles, and flashlights. We of course made it through every tornado, but we were protected by Angels.

LOL no - the bathtub isn't filled! They use it as a shelter because it's made of concrete underneath (or whatever it is). If they don't have a shelter or safe room, this is the best place for them.

Yeah. The NOAA's national radar page is effectively down. I guess too many people are trying to get a good radar feed in OK and North Texas. Last I knew there are very rapidly developing severe storms heading for Hunt County, Texas. If so... I hope we get some fricken rain at least!

I hope you are never impacted by any tornadoes, AC. Even a F0 tornado is plenty scary up close and personal, or at least within a mile of one anyways.

I lived in Tulsa for several years. Praying for you, OP, and for the whole city. Be safe.

Get a Med Bed and tornadoes are no worry.
