Have you ever seen a tornado, or been close to one, or experienced the driving rain and hail that accompany them? Or seen their aftermath? It's not just rain and wind. They are terrifying, especially at night.

I took care of a woman when I worked in a Tulsa hospital who was paralyzed from the waist down due to a tornado. The wind drove a piece of wood through her back and severed her spinal cord. She was just a young lady. Tornados are the most fearful weather events, if you ask me. I have been through many warnings and you never get used to them or take your safety for granted.

When they said that they were looking at the radar. The radar will tell you exactly what is happening. The sirens were a false alarm. I was in a house that was ripped off of it's foundation by a tornado when I was 6. Been a weather nerd ever since.

I wouldn't live in Tornado Alley for long without a storm cellar.

I have a tab open for that storm chaser livestream. Tornadoes seem to keep popping into existing then popping right back out of existence the second they are detected. Go figure.

The data is raw. The software is my own. There are independent chasers on the ground confirming what is happening on radar. Trust me. When these little bastards get squirrelly we know about it as it is happening. TPTB does not have a hand in meteorology. They control the weather itself but even they are limited as to how much and where they can affect. Most of these guys are volunteer. Even if they are monetized they still have the public safety's interest at heart.

Name F5 and F6 tornadoes "Joe Biden" Class. You know, due to the extreme amount of death and destruction he brings as well as making no damn sense the entire time as to why he even exists.

I lived in Bixby a couple years when I was younger.

Those tornadoes are scary and if nothing else, all the weather alarms and sirens are enough to drive anyone crazy.

I finally just shut off my weather alert and figured if it was going to hit me, then it was my time. No other way to get a decent night's sleep during tornado season.

are you in or near a trailer park? If so RUN, tornado's have some type trailer park radar that guides them right to the trashiest park around.
I suspect that may have some type smart shark with a controller guiding them to trailer parks and if no trailers are around then to schools.
But if a shark is controlling it then it should be called a sharknado

On the plus side looks like last summer wasn't too hot for you guys as you didn't hit 100 degrees at all.
Very rare and the first time since 2004 Tulsa didn't hit 100 degrees at all.

I grew up in tornado alley. I’ve had so many close calls! I’ve never been in a structure that was hit, thank God!

By comparison NW Arkansas is mild. We just had the same storm blow through here and it was crazy. My house was making noises I’ve never heard before.

Arkansas doesn't get the tornadoes as bad as Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas or even Missouri.
Probably because Arkansas is more mountainous

Ok, a good storm just moved through here (LR) and it looks like a giant cell passed south of me and is mostly in Alabama now. The line that just wwent through here is already reaching Memphis. I think it will just be rain for the next several hours. depending..

The post was actually "tornado sirens going off in Tulsa" after the storm had already passed and the tornado warning was about to expire. Some of us have been watching the weather for decades and know when a storm is a threat. Instead of seeing that some of us were trying to calm her down as she was obviously gaining some panic, you focus on people not making a big deal out of something that wasn't a big deal. Pretty retarded.
