Man, it's a bad year for cargo ships!

Found this video of the same ship. In the comments it was said that 7 sailors died.

Terrible way to die. Probably drowned below decks.

Wasn't even very big waves. I guess the ship's hull just corroded to the point of failure.

Always have to be praying and watching. Fast to catch anomalies; awareness outside of the box!

why in hell is it segmented that way ?

3 people died. This is a bulk cargo ship, there are no lower compartments aside from the cargo holds themselves which are closed off during transit. Maybe don't believe everything you read on the internet and spread it elsewhere, , or in your case, maybe just stop posting all together. Okay.

Modular construction. They build the modules, then fit them together and weld.

They aren't supposed to break apart of course.

Just lower the Flex seal tape guy over the side!

It says 6 perished. It was 2 dead and several missing, and I guess the other missing were later confirmed dead.

Looks like it was near land and in decent weather. Terrible that they could not be saved.

The ship was built in 75 and meant for river traffic.

It was hauling 2900 tons of bulk Urea. (fertilizer)

Here it was 4 dead and 3 missing.

Heck, they didn't even seem to agree with the crew count that was aboard. I don't see a final story presenting all the facts.

No problem. I have always been interested in the ocean for a lot of reasons. Freedom, fresh air, connection with the pulse of the Earth, a place generally unclaimed and untamed by man.

Where survival depends upon the condition of the vessel and the capabilities of those aboard. There is no grading on a curve. You master the essentials, or you die. You have to prepare for everything that can go wrong, and have some remedy for it.


I always pictured these things happening 1000 miles offshore.

This one happened within easy sight of dry land, in an inland sea.

Perhaps much has to do with disruption of supply chains.

2900 tons is a lot for an old ship to carry!
