New Hampshire: Massive Child Sex Ring Busted At State Youth Facility – Hundreds Of Kids Tortured & Raped

Having worked in youth care for six years, I have mixed feelings about this.

I, of course, abhor any type of child abuse. That being said, the types of children who end up in these institutions are troubled kids: they lie, they cheat, they steal, they don't do their schoolwork, they start fights, they have sex, do drugs, etc.

Some of their injuries may have been caused by staff restraining them after they assaulted other people - I've seen it and been involved in it on the job. I've had to restrain kids twice my size with gang-violence backgrounds and such. Doesn't matter how they teach you to do the restraints, situations like that are difficult and are hardly as clean as you'd like them to be.

Here in Illinois, institutionalized children are allowed access to call DCFS to report abuse. You do not want to refuse a child access to reporting abuse to their case workers - you'll be fired and rightly so.

I don't want to downplay possible abuse or anything like that. These people deserve to be heard. However, I can also see some of them having grown up as career criminals seeing an opportunity to sue the state for things that never happened to them. That's just my two cents.

The Sununu Youth Services Center, formerly known as the Youth Development Center, in Manchester has been under investigation since July 2019, when two former counselors were charged with 82 counts of rape.

The sitting Governor of New Hampshire since 2017 is Chris Sununu According to his press release, his office launched the investigation ..... hmmm.

Knowing my luck, that would be my great reward for all the years of sacrifice and hard work I put into helping orphans and foster children and sexually victimized children: getting doxxed because some dolt on the internet has problems with reading comprehension.

I was never and will never be an apologist for predators who sexually victimize children.

You never worked in youth care so you have no idea what it's like. You could have a teenage girl in a home who didn't get her allowance because she refused all week long to do her chores. So, when she doesn't get her allowance, she assaults the staff and tries to steal some other girl's allowance. As a result, staff are called to the home to assist in de-escalating the situation. The situation turns into a restraint. Everyone does exactly what they're supposed to do, but one of the guys restraining her is holding her too strongly and she doesn't like that guy. So, later, after it's over, she goes and reports that the guy sexually assaulted her. Just for spite. Then he's investigated and all that even though multiple witnesses can verify it didn't happen.

I've been there. I've seen it and heard it all.

I'm first and foremost an advocate for children. I worked in youth ministry, I worked in youth care, and I was a SASS worker (a mental health practitioner for children), and I have my own kid(s). I've done more to help children and enrich their lives than you probably ever will. I would never defend the actions of a pedophile and if you had read my further responses, you would understand I made my comments based upon what was in the OP.

It is kid prison / juvenile detention, but also has juvenile mental health. For kids from 13 to 17 years old. Shocking so many staff were involved, with no oversight or even 3rd party investigations into complaints for over 20 years. Total failure

Because foster children are insane, violent, require constant supervision, require counseling and medication, and are extremely expensive to raise. They aren’t your normal kids. They require a LOT of work.

Why aren't people adopting more Foster Children?
