I don't need much space and I would be happy sharing a home with a suitable roommate. Quoting: Hope_Full But here in the frozen Midwest, I am done. We have a moron for a governor (Pritzker) and the economy is toast from the 15-month (and counting) shutdown. It's a big deal to pack up and move, but I'm heading down there in a few days for an exploratory trip. Please tell me the pros and cons of Florida. Thanks! Century Village in Deerfield Beach is nice. The trailers in 55+ parks are actually not that bad and most are well kept if they are restricted to 55+. But you have to think about hurricanes. You'll either have to bug out early and risk being stuck on the limited routes out while the storm is coming through, or ride it out in a shelter. Also Trinity is right. Even though DeSantis is the current political pioneer, the local governments have been infiltrated by globalists. And if you are not ready to pay someone to keep your AC tip top or learn how to keep it repaired yourself, 95F at 95% humidity for 8 months straight is brutal. Just some things to keep in mind. To ignore tyranny is to give it medium to thrive! |

Quoting: ^TrInItY^ If you're not used to 90% humidity and 95 degree weather you're going to be in for a shock. The retirement community you're thinking of is "the villages". As a fellow Illinoisan, who has spent time in both places, I think AZ is more conservative, sunshine all the time, no humidity, and lots of older people there too. Quoting: Justice4all North Florida is still conservative and you don't have to speak Spanish to live there but it helps to speak redneck ;) North Florida aka Baja Georgia! |
