It's going to be really hard to locate any of that information. Many died from disease. Recent speculation is that as many as 10 million natives died in South and Central America during the initial colonization. |

South America and Central America were much more densely populated with Native Civilizations who had developed modern farming techniques and the building of permanent structures. Many of the Natives in North America were more nomadic and sparsely populated the landscape. I suspect this led to far greater numbers dying from pathogens brought by the Europeans, which may have also effected the native crops as well leading to starvation. Although this cannot be directly linked to malicious death by the Europeans of the time, it worked to their advantage. I doubt they had a level of knowledge to purposefully infect the natives at the time and it was simply bad luck. |

The natives in South America lived in densely populated city centers that would have suffered pandemics much in advance to the Spaniards travels inland. Some researchers estimate that 90% of the population was wiped completely out before Spanish explorers ever even reached the interior of the continent. By at least 100 years. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80190400 Most African slaves went to BRAZIL. Next most went to the Caribbean. Next most went to the U.S. It seems Spain likes to forget it's involvement in the slave trade. Yes, true...a lot went to Spanish lands in the New World. But some of that is included in the “Caribbean”. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80190400 They still managed to wreck half of the world with their colonization. An impressive feat. Wreck half the world? What do you think I did would be like today without the British influence of education, administration, transportation, medicine, democracy, etc.? |
