Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 11 - Livestream
So... (hat tip to this witness), Floyd’s heart was awesome. He could hoop all day long. Taking enormous quantities of fentanyl along with meth ain’t no problem. He saw no signs of overdose which would include the inability to walk, despite Floyd collapsing several times.

Nelson needs to ask when Floyd died during time of restraint, and when paramedics were called during this time. He then needs to ask if in his medical opinion police or EMTs are better at treating a person whose heart has stopped beating.

Keep in mind the paramedics arrive 90 seconds after they observe no pulse. If you watch the entirety of the incident via an officers body camera you don’t get the sense the police did anything wrong. If you chop it up or pause at points it can paint a different picture.

this idiot is droning on about lack of fentanyl/opiod Overdose symptoms, claiming it was due to tolerance.

Then he is asked about meth and says it was a low level.

Never addressing the unique manifestations of the combination of the two, which is the reason for mixing them.
Especially how the meth cancels out most of the mellowing slowing features of the opiate.

And never addressing the fact that the meth was at low level b/c he had metabolized most of it as he had been high on it all day, and the Fentanyl level was so exaggerated b/c Floyd ate most of it trying to hide it from the cops when they approached his car.

the most honest and relevant portion of his testimony was noting the exchange between the officers as to Floyd's coma like state and lack of pulse and suggestion to turn him on his side that was ignored. Chauvin was distracted and not malicious, but he definitely dropped the ball.

Chauvin definitely needs to be held to account for his mis-steps in that situation.

Problem is, it will likely be overblown to destroy his life in a miscarriage of justice.
 Quoting: Herr Decider

Yeah the last 90 seconds doesn’t look good for the police. At the same time the police thought Floyd was high. One speculated PCP, which is really dangerous. Floyd had violently resisted arrest. The paramedics were on their way while they faced a hostile crowd. I don’t think it was the best decision, in retrospect. But in the heat of the moment I don’t know that it was a bad decision.

Did you notice how carefully Dr. Rich answered the question about if fentayl played a role in Floyd's death?

He said that he did not die from an overdose, and did not answer the actual question.

If that was a yes/no question he would have had to say yes.

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 11 - Livestream
I missed most of his testimony due to other factors, but if like the other 3 he is claiming the positional asphyxia was on the back, then I know you're a liar and a deceiver because I know Chauvin's knee was barely on Floyd's back, not compressing his lungs. He also (surprise, surprise) talked in half truths, apparently, because he almost certainly made an issue about Floyd's pleading he cannot breathe while not mentioning he uttered the same thing 4 times before being pinned on the ground. He also said the officer told him he was pulseless. I watched the video again in the last day I think and I believe the wording was that he could find no pulse. As I have mentioned before, one of my most recent doctors appointments my doctor couldn't find my pulse and had me use my watch for that purpose. There is a difference between not finding a pulse and objectively there being no pulse, but I do personally believe Chauvin is probably guilty of some magnitude of manslaughter, but not murder.

I would quibble about is the degree of hostility in the crowd. But the call on PCP was very reasonable and excited delirium is nothing to mess with. Thus the neck hold was reasonable in my opinion. Until it wasn't.

My take is the officers on Floyd faced no risk from Floyd once he was out cold and they could have at least made a show of hearing the crowd's pleas by taking the knee off what looked like his neck, rolling him over and pretending to administer some form of care to him.

They could have done that while the asian cop did what he had been doing, standing between the citizens with his hand on his gun.

It was a mistake that should result in demotion and further training for Chauvin at the very least.

Can you imagine?

The George Floyd Memorial Fund (by brother, Philonise Floyd), received more donations than any other fundraiser in GoFundMe history. It generated more than $17 million as of Dec 8, 2020. It was started for "funeral expenses," but Floyd Mayweather, the boxer, paid for the entire funeral.

Also, in addition, there are these Go Fund Me accounts:

Bridgett Floyd (sister): $376,795 raised

Gianna Floyd Fund (George Floyd's child): $2,355,320 raised of $2,500,000 goal

Current witness did a good job of snuffing Defense's 90% artery reduction angle. Nelson pivoted immediately to drugs.

Pretty amazing information about the heart creating new blood passageways when under circulation duress..over time.

It'd be interesting to know what Nelson actually thinks about his clients prospects today.

Pretty much sums up the whole trial
 Quoting: LastAmericanOutlaw

He certainly is not saying anything that hasn't been heard before. They just keep going over the same old ground like they are trying to convince a new jury. If it were me I'd feel a bit insulted. This is also wasting the court's time.
 Quoting: 18328

THIS - over and over and over again. Saint George Fentanyl died of a drug overdose compounded with ongoing health issues. Autopsy shows that Chauvin did not kill or injure him. Windpipe was fine. Saint George caused his own death.

Just move on and get it over with. If people riot, they riot.

Nelson didn’t ask many questions. So my guess is he has his own expert to refute this guy. He might have also figured this is another slippery witness who wasn’t playing well with the jury. So he just let his own ridiculous testimony stand.

Keep in mind two medical examiners testified that removing the restraint you could have said Floyd died from drugs or heart issues. So you have conflicting prosecution witnesses.
