I really must try to attempt the breathing exercise on a regular basis. Unfortunately I have a difficult time developing beneficial habits.
Quoting: scimitar I usually do it early in the day, before eating (though sometimes after, depending on how the day develops)... and sometime in the evening if I'm feeling a lot of anxiety or stuck in a cruddy feeling.
Once I even pulled up the video on my phone during my daughter's soccer game and breathed along, listening with earbuds. I've also done it without the video, but find listening to his voice supportive and soothing... seems easier somehow.
There's also a slower video if the pace of breathing seems difficult.
I've stayed with it a couple months now. I started out with committing to doing it for a week, then a month... at each point evaluating whether I want to continue...
It's a fairly small commitment - only 11 minutes a day - that seems to genuinely help my emotional and mental well being. Maybe it's my imagination, but for whatever reason I feel compelled to continue with it...
I would encourage you to try it for a week and see how you feel at the end... if it isn't for you, no big deal - just 77 minutes of your life lost
