Ok then... what purpose do all these lights serve on the outside?

It was twirling star far off in space. I noticed it was twinkling orange not blue likall the other stars that evening.
I stepped out into the back yard wondering what the hec was this thing. A telepathic connection happened in my brain, between me and this flashing star.
Well that started moving. It didn’t move in a linear fashion it more looked like it was disappearing and reappearing closer and closer.
It was now in our atmosphere and I could see it clearer. It was a massive orange ball of lights. It kept getting closer it also got larger and smaller as it “travelled.
So it’s about 100 feet above me in the backyard now, hovering silently as these intense brilliant orange lights strobed. I couldn’t look directly at it I had to filter my direct view thru ny fingers to even get a glimps as it was as bright as the sun.
As I hovered up there, u huge bright orange ball it looked like it was literally on fire. Around the outside perimeter it was dissipating red flames,,, they just dissipated away like it was part of the energy powering this thing.
Moments later it shone down a white translucent beam of light, it landed bout 10 feet from where I was standing in the back yard.
That scared the crap outa me, I stepped back in the house but came right back out when it stopped shining that light.
At this poin all I could hear in my head was the GLP mantra of “picks or it didn’t happen “. Lol.
It shot off like a bullet as I pressed the record button on my phone to start a vid.
So in answer to your question of why they need lights. I would answer first of all that they are light, they don’t need lights to see, It’s their energy source that gives off the light and fire it’s not like headlights for them to see lol.
It’s all about the experience or lack of.
My experience tells me different and your lack of the experience leaves you only to surmise.
My story is true, after this experience I have more questions than answered.
