That is a horrible and biased decision. Hall has a right to invoke the fifth, but for the judge to not allow any questions on this is awful.

The state has the ability to immunize the witness. The state has chosen not to which now prevents the defense from calling him. The judge won’t even let the defense hear him take the fifth. In my mind that should be grounds for a retrial if Chauvin is convicted.

This is especially ridiculous when they allowed George Floyd and his girlfriend to testify. They weren’t at the scene and provided irrelevant, and emotional testimony. It was highly prejudicial. Of course Nelson made the girlfriend a good witness for the defense.

Almost Unbelievable is what it is.

So first expert witness didn't do his homework and said Floyd was "Resting comfortably" on the pavement.

Second one worked for the apartheid South African government right up until it was dissolved then fled the country.

Are we sure Nelson isn't throwing the game?

What's next, he gonna call D. Duke as an expert race relations witness?

It says a lot about the state of schools today. Teachers are drugged out pill poppers who have such low standards they date a drugged out felon like George Floyd.

Defense should still be able to call his ass to the stand, and then he can plead the 5th to every question in front of the jury.

I'm sure all the jurors are Googling this shit when they get home, I'm guessing they're aware.

I'm not sure about this but, I think the Defense subpoenaed Hall and the Judge quashed the subpoena. That's how Interpreted it.

Or he may just defer to previous precedent set by Mark Furhman in the OJ trial...

Well I guess we know what the CNN and ABC pundits will be talking about tonight, we've had our "Resting comfortably" moment for the day.

Dr. Fowler just said carbon monoxide from the police cruiser exhaust might have contributed to his death...

They should have been sequestered and devices taken from them. If they have visited Twitter and searched the Hashtag #DerekChauvinTrial they would have been corrupted against Chauvin.

The State is going to tear him up on that exhaust statement, The squad was a Hybrid and there was no way of telling if it was running on Gas or Battery power at the time.

Defense should have instructed Fowler on that.

I’m not sure it is bad. This guy just said it might be an issue. If pressed on it he should say how difficult it is to measure these things from a video. Because that is true. He’s simply saying it might not help. We definitely know it wouldn’t be good to stick your head right next to an exhaust pipe of a running car for a long period of time. Of course this also introduces the idea that Floyd shouldn’t have been placed near the pipe.

Like you said there was no way of telling. And that is kinda the point. There is doubt about what exactly caused Floyd’s death. So can you hold the officers responsible for it?

I'm still looking into this, on the cellphone video it appears you can see water on the ground from exhaust condensation.

It does appear to be a 6th generation Explorer which was introduced for the 2020 model year, that is the first where hybrid capability was available but I'm not sure if all police interceptor models had this feature.

I thought they established earlier in the trial this was in fact a hybrid. But I may be misremembering.
