Nelson snuck in a small but great question. He based it off of the cross examination about whether this man’s organization was a business or not. Nelson asked if witnesses who volunteer their time are more trustworthy. The prosecution objected. But if the jury was thinking about all the free expert work the prosecution got it makes it an interesting point to consider.

You know the one thing that just hit me after watching this for a couple of days is that it's totally possible for any one of us to just drop dead right now.

Good point, nine of the Jurors work, two are retired, one is unemployed.

I think that is another reason I’ve not been watching as much. I don’t like all this talk about death and how we are all just waiting to expire at any moment.

Yeah, but he might be only getting paid $15 a day for jury duty, I forget what my state pays but it is a joke and not far from that number.

It’s funny that the government has hundreds of thousands to pay attorneys, doctors, and expert witnesses. But it doesn’t pay squat to the common man serving on a jury.

Didn't see and video of him spitting a pill out, sure... but it's a fucking bodycam not a 4k HD film camera.

The video of the Wright shooting, the frame rate wasn't fast enough to catch the cycling of the action of the gun when it fired and it was right in front of the camera.

He should add, don’t break the curfew or drive anywhere near the courthouse with your eyes open.

I know right... but then again I guess they say it's our civic duty to serve on a jury but not to be an expert witness.

I can see the civic duty argument, but not on a trial of this length. It would be hugely disruptive if you had your own business.

Personally I think paid jurors might be a good thing. What about expert jurors? If you can have expert witnesses why can’t you have expert jurors? Is picking random people from the voter rolls really the best way to find smart, fair people?

Oh also, just to provide a bit of testimony based on my personal expertise, a 2020 model direct injected engine puts out pretty much zero PPM CO at idle, and it takes over 100 ppm cause health effects and that would take hours.

The CO detector in your house doesn't even beep until it gets to around 40 ppm.

I'm on Chauvin's side here but just laying out the facts based on measurements I've taken personally on late model vehicles and also older ones.

You would need a vehicle from the mid-90's or earlier to have exhaust CO concentrations that could be harmful in an open air environment, and even then it's a stretch.

They need to call in an expert witness on the validity of expert witnesses

Excellent point. Since experts disagree, you have to be an expert to judge the experts. I think the takeaway is “trust the experts”, which we hear a lot these days, may be the stupidest thing ever said.

The problem will be people will expect the death penalty, but that's how ignorant they are. I think reasonable doubt has been established in at least a few jurors, but you know the peer pressure during deliberations will be immense and perhaps even some threat innuendo used to convince dissenters to convict.

I hope someone stands their ground, because no matter what anyone says, from what I saw, and if I was on the jury panel, there is no way I can convict with 100 percent certainty that Chauvin committed an actual crime of which he is accused.

And if that stresses anyone out, this is my opinion, and I will stand by it.

Scary but true. One of my classmates from HS passed away suddenly 3 days ago and she was only 57.

Defense should put up similar situations of Officer Chauvin doing same thing to 2 petite women, maybe 3 slight men who handle it, with discomfort, but without not being able to breathe or of course die.

Automatic only manslaughter for failing to render first aid when non-responsive, no pulse.
