Professional football is just a non lethal weapon destroy your opponent before they destroy you fest, and has been for over a decade.

UEFA also reiterated that any clubs involved in a Super League would be banned from all other domestic, European, and world competitions, and their players could be denied the opportunity to represent their national teams.[15] The French football federation and French professional league would also release a statement opposing the proposed Super League; the German football league followed suit.[16][17] French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also expressed opposition to the plan.[18][19][20] Fans also expressed opposition; Football Supporters Europe called the proposal "illegitimate, irresponsible, and anti-competitive by design".[21][22]

Later the same day, an official press release announced the formation of the league. Twelve clubs, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan, were named as founding members, with a further three clubs anticipated to join before the inaugural season. A 20-team league was envisioned, which would allow five clubs to qualify annually based on results from the previous season. The league would last from August to May, with play beginning in two groups of ten. The top three clubs in each group would automatically qualify for the quarterfinals; fourth-and fifth-placed clubs would compete in a two-leg playoff for the remaining slots. Club football once it lost the way it was built on identity and community, is lost forever.

Club football used to be about being part of a identity, ie community. Now these clubs are international teams in effects, and have no real relevance to the community that started them.

I do not care about this, as i stopped watching football a long time ago now, and club football had lost its idealism, and relevance to the communities that gave birth to them.

Football at this sort of level is gone now, and people in it and around it, are welcome to the nonsense it is today.

So true! I spend my weekends watching amateur football. we had an English lad come by this match (he had time in between pro matches and this was near his hotel) and was telling us it was the best atmosphere and match he saw all weekend!

That's what I thought at first but I'm thinking they want to take them down.

There is one thing for sure. It's causing a lot of debate, which is good. Competition will force UEFA to be human, again. The Super League, as an exclusive mini competition above and beyond their normal League play, is not a crazy idea. Sometimes you just need to make a big splash to wake everyone up!

Only thing is - Winner of Super League should play the winner of the Champions League in a true best of the best final!

No, they can't neither can any of the La Liga's/EPL etc...it's footie players and teams running with their own shit outside of UEFA etc. Who cares? It's a bouncy ball, well, bouncing back and forth.
