User ID: 28701343 Australia 04/20/2021 10:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | According to an article that can be found just by Googling (I don't dignify journalist cockroaches with links), there was a poll conducted that showed a 'plurality' (fancy word to take the place for 'majority', which it was not) of people who voted he should be convicted of murder. This was 48% versus 20% who voted he should be acquited while 33% said they "weren't sure". When it comes to polls like this, I usually just subtract the "unsure" responses from the count, so 48-20 equals 70.6% to 29.4% who feel he is guilty of murder. Which highlights another problem with the poll: he is being charged with 2 murder offenses and 1 manslaughter. The poll doesn't give room for the respondents to say they think he should be convicted of manslaughter, which might be distorting the results. Additionally, it is interesting to see the breakdowns by race and political belief. Not because they don't show the predictable fact that Democrats are black people are more likely to say he is guilty, but it also shows a sizable minority of those demographics break from their counterparts. According to the poll, 62-13 of Demoracts say he is guilty of murder. That is 1 in 6 Democrats disagree which is higher than I'd expect. While 33-33 of Republicans say he is guilty, which is also higher than I'd expect. Black people are 9-68, or 1 in 10 who say he is innocent. Also of note 18-55 (24.7%) watched parts of the trial versus got their info from the (biased, decetiful) news. Last Edited by GooPile on 04/20/2021 10:31 AM GooPile |
