Well that's a relief. hf

PS: Feel free to talk to me, ask me questions, call me names, whatever. ALL ARE WELCOME... especially the skeptics.

I think the pinnacle of all is to have fusion with the divine. In Buddhism this is the achievement of Buddahood, in Eastern Orthodoxy it is called Theosis, in Hinduism it is the union of Atman and Brahmam, etc. In Early-Modern Western-European Christianity it was called by one theologian "annihilation of the self in the Essential Will of God," which I think captures the spirit of it well.

All special powers, supernatural abilities, visitations with spirits and strange beings, traveling to different inner realms, etc. etc. seem not too important to me compared to ego dissolution and the total experience of Divine. I use two religious systems to understand spirituality: Eastern Orthodox Christianity and Mahayana Buddhism. In both cases the "little self" is enwrapped by the divine LIGHT and MERCY/COMPASSION and dissolves utterly.

agree? Disagree?

If you were to look at Shintoism in the context of spiritualism or spirituaity, where would you place it?
